Auto Helpdesk Ticket Close
Auto Helpdesk Ticket Close Odoo App takes the cleanup work off your support team. Set an inactivity threshold per helpdesk team, mark which stage counts as the team's Closed, and a daily job quietly moves any ticket that has gone untouched for that long into the Closed stage — no manual closing, no overdue list piling up.
Each team controls its own rule. The L1 team might close tickets after 7 idle days; an L3 team can keep its own value at 30. Pair that with one Closed stage scoped to each team, and the scheduled action only ever moves the right tickets to the right place. Tickets already sitting in a Closed stage are skipped, so nothing gets touched twice.
Useful for any support, IT or facilities team that opens lots of tickets and routinely forgets to close the ones the customer abandoned. The result is a current, accurate pipeline so managers see real workload instead of months of stale records.
Features
- Inactivity Threshold per Team: Set a No Changes Last Days value on each helpdesk team so each one closes idle tickets on its own schedule.
- Mark a Stage as Closed: A new Is Close checkbox on the stage flags it as the final stage that the automation should send stale tickets to.
- Team-Scoped Close Stage: Link each Closed stage to a specific team, so tickets always land in the right final column for the team that owns them.
- Daily Automatic Cleanup: A scheduled Auto Close Stale Helpdesk Tickets action runs every day and moves any ticket past its team's threshold to the right Closed stage.
- Already-Closed Tickets Skipped: Tickets sitting in a Closed stage are ignored by the automation, so nothing is re-processed or re-stamped.
- Run On Demand: A Run Manually button on the scheduled action lets administrators trigger the cleanup immediately without waiting for the daily run.
Set the Inactivity Threshold on the Team
Open Helpdesk > Configuration > Team and use the new No Changes Last Days field — here set to 2. After that many idle days, the team's tickets move to its Closed stage automatically.
Mark a Stage as Closed for a Team
On any stage record, tick Is Close to flag it as the final stage and pick the Team it belongs to — here the Closed stage is scoped to Team A so only that team's idle tickets land there.
Assign Tickets to a Team
Each ticket carries the team that owns it — here Team A — and the automation uses that team's threshold and Closed stage when deciding when and where to send the ticket.
Daily Cleanup Job
A scheduled action called Auto Close Stale Helpdesk Tickets ships with the module, set to run every day. It stays Active out of the box and exposes a Run Manually button for administrators who want to trigger the cleanup on demand.
Ticket Moved to Closed Automatically
Once the threshold passes without activity, the ticket's workflow ribbon advances straight to Closed — the support team didn't have to lift a finger.
