Google Places Address Autocomplete

1. Configuration

Go to Settings > General Settings

Enter your API key and save the settings.

2. Country Restrictions

Admin can restrict address autocomplete to specific countries by selecting countries in settings.

The system will automatically apply these restrictions when fetching address suggestions.

1. Google Autocomplete Suggestions on Typing

The user starts typing in the street address field.

Google Places API suggests addresses based on the input.

2. Fetching Country Codes

The module retrieves country codes from Odoo settings.

If no country codes are configured, it allows addresses from all countries.

1. Address Selection & Auto-Fill

Street - Extracted from the selected place.

City - Fetched from the Google API response.

State - Matched with Odoo's states.

Country - Matched with Odoo's country records.

ZIP Code - Extracted from the selected address.

2. Handling Country & State IDs

The system fetches the country and state IDs based on the selected address.

If the country or state does not exist in Odoo, it will not be assigned.

3. Clearing Address Fields

If a user deletes the street input, all related fields (City, State, ZIP, Country) will be cleared automatically.
