Many companies sell products through Facebook social media services. To advertise or sell products on Facebook and Instagram, you need a catalog that contains your product information.
This Odoo module automatically generates product data files (feeds) for the Facebook catalog. The data is accessible via a token-protected URL. Once you connect the feed URL to Meta Commerce Manager, you can promote your products across sales channels such as Facebook Ads, Instagram Shopping, and WhatsApp Business using dynamic ads.

Product Categories
Product categories help Meta classify products in the catalog, which improves their display and performance in Commerce Manager. The module allows you to import Google Product Category (GPC) and Facebook Product Category (FPC) taxonomies, and then assign the corresponding categories to products in Odoo.

If you use eCommerce categories, you can also map them to Google categories.
Once you configure category mapping (eCommerce — GPC), the module automatically assigns the Google category to all related products.
Feed Configuration
After installing the module, open the list of feeds to prepare one of them for your needs. Go to the Website — eCommerce — Products — Product Data Feeds menu.
The module comes with two ready-to-use data feed templates configured according to Facebook requirements.
If Odoo products have attributes and multiple variants, use the Facebook Catalog (Product Variants) template.
If you manage products in Odoo at the product template level without variants, use the Facebook Catalog (Product Templates).
Feed Products
First, determine which products to include in the data feed. Use the Item Filter to set the selection filters:
Click Edit Domain to add product filters for the data feed.
Click Confirm to save the changes. The module automatically recalculates the number of products included in the feed according to the selected filters.
To manage feed products, click the link with the number of records or use the Items button at the top of the feed form.
Price Configuration
Before connecting the feed to Facebook Catalog, configure product prices. Go to the Settings tab and, in the Prices section, select a Pricelist. This pricelist determines product prices.
To include promotional prices in the data feed, set the Sale Pricelist field. Configure this pricelist in advance and define discounted prices for products.
Stock Locations
The module allows you to select warehouses (stock locations) to calculate on-hand quantities and product availability statuses.
Go to the Settings tab, Stock section. Select the desired Stock Locations in the field:
As a result, the module calculates stock levels for the data feed using only the specified stock locations.
If a product is out of stock at the specified locations, the Out of Stock Mode parameter determines the availability status to specify:
- Available for Order — sets the product availability status to
in stock - Out of Stock — sets the product availability status to
out of stock
Feed Columns
The Odoo Facebook Catalog module includes data feed columns preconfigured according to Meta requirements. These columns map to standard fields and use native Odoo product management logic. You can reconfigure the feed columns through the user interface to map them to your custom product fields.
To manage columns, click the Columns button at the top of the page.
The Odoo Facebook Catalog module provides a limited number of columns for importing product information. To access the full list of columns, use the Facebook Catalog Professional module. The Professional version allows you to add shipping information, custom labels, numbers, manage product visibility across various Meta channels, and more.
Product Configuration
You can also configure the data feed for Meta Commerce Manager at the product level. To do this, open a product and select the Data Feeds tab. Facebook-related settings are in the section of the same name.
The Status field value in the Visibility section controls whether to mark the product as Active or Archived in the Facebook catalog. Only active products are visible to users in your ads, shops, or any other channels.
To specify product codes such as GTIN and MPN, use the Codes section on the Extra tab.
Feed Connection
Before connecting the feed to Facebook, click Preview to review the configuration result.

To import products from Odoo, first copy the feed URL.
Next, paste this URL into your Facebook catalog in Meta Commerce Manager.

Our Facebook Catalog and Facebook Catalog Professional solutions allow you to add and manage data feeds that contain all required details about your Odoo products. Feeds are achievable by specific URLs protected with a token. You do not need to upload this data manually all the time, you need to configure a data feed on the Facebook side at once. After that, Facebook makes requests to your feed URL and receives the actual details of your products, with a period that is configured on the Facebook side.
2. What are the key differences between the two modules mentioned above? Can I use the facebook_shop app independently without needing the pro version?
The Pro version is just an extension for the Facebook Catalog solution. You can buy the Facebook Catalog Professional, in this case, the Facebook Catalog will be already included there. Or, you can buy the Facebook Catalog only, and purchase the Facebook Catalog Professional further, paying only the price difference.
The Pro version adds more optional fields for your product feed, so you will have more possibilities to operate with your products via a feed.
