STORY BEHIND THE FEATURES

ODOO BEHAVIOR

You can assign an Analytic Distribution on Projects or Tasks.

However, there's no central dashboard to show the relationship between Projects, Tasks, and the assigned resource.

Analytic Distribution are not linked with resource management.

CLUEDOO BEHAVIOR

Add the ability to assign Analytic Resource to both Projects and Tasks via Analytic Distribution .

The Project and Task are automatically linked to the Analytic Resource , if its analytic account is used.

All linked records are visible under the Analytic Resource form.


COMPARISON: ODOO VS CLUEDOO

Odoo :

  • Projects and Tasks allow analytic assignment.
  • No linkage to a central resource dashboard.
  • No automated tracking of linked objects.

Cluedoo :

  • Supports assigning analytic distribution referencing an Analytic Resource .

BUSINESS CASE

A construction company runs multiple projects and tasks under specific equipment or contractor teams. The manager wants to monitor all work related to a single resource , including the associated Projects and Tasks.

HOW TO USE THIS MODULE

REQUIRED MODULES:
PROJECT TASK CATEGORY
SERIAL NUMBER CATEGORY

Create a serial number category for a product (Inventory → Configuration → Serial Number Category) and check Auto Create Analytic Resource.

Set a Serial Number Category under a product within Product Category (Inventory → Product Categories)

On Project → Configuration → Project  Task Category, create a project task category and select the product.
Note: the tracking of the selected product should be "By Unique Serial Number".

Under Tasks, set the Project Task Category, and click "Create Analytic Resource". This  will  automatically create  the Analytic Resource based on the task name.

This will create a serial number for the selected product, and the Analytic Resource will also be visible.
