Streamlined Job Cost Sheets with Analytical Budgeting for Enhanced Financial Insight

This module enables the creation and management of analytic budgets (odoo_account_budget) directly from job cost sheets by systematically organizing and recording material, labour, and overhead costs.

If an analytic budget already exists in draft state for the corresponding job cost sheet, it will be automatically updated to include any new job costing lines.

In cases where the analytic budget is already in an open state, the system will create and append new job costing lines for material, labour, and overhead accordingly ensuring that all cost components remain accurately aligned with the projects financial framework.

  • Direct Creation of Analytic Budgets from Job Cost Sheets:
    • Enables project managers to generate analytic budgets directly from job cost sheets by configuring department and internal settings for material, labour, and overhead cost lines. The system automatically links the relevant project to the budget based on the job cost sheet line, ensuring consistent cost tracking across various project components.
  • Automatic Budget Line Updates:
    • If an analytic budget already exists for the job cost sheet, the system intelligently appends newly added job cost lines covering material, labour, and overhead to the existing budget, avoiding duplication and maintaining data integrity.
  • Seamless Budget Creation:
    • When no existing analytic budget is found for a job cost sheet, the system automatically creates a new budget and assigns the job cost sheet reference to the newly added lines. This ensures streamlined and consistent budget management without manual intervention.User has to set the budget position onthe job cost line before creating the budget from the cost sheet.
  • Integrated Budget Access via Smart Button:
    • A dedicated Budget Smart Button on the job cost sheet allows users to instantly view and manage the linked analytic budget. This provides quick and direct access to detailed financial data, enhancing project financial visibility and control.
  • User-Friendly Interface with Visual Aids:
    • Easily understand and navigate the budgeting process with a clean interface. Refer to the video tutorial and screenshots below for a visual guide on how to utilize these features effectively.
  • Compatible with Probuse Budget Module for Community Edition:

    Job Costing and Budget Creation

    The Job Cost Sheet includes a Create Budget button that allows users to generate an Analytic Budget directly from the job cost data. When the Project for Budget option is enabled, the system assigns the corresponding project to each budget line automatically. Each line in the job cost sheet captures detailed cost information including material, labour, and overhead along with associated fields for project categorization. The analytic budget reference is recorded on the job cost sheet to maintain a clear linkage between budgeting and actual project costs.
