Purchase Order Split
Split a purchase order into two when conditions change mid-way through receiving
Overview
The Purchase Order Split module allows you to split an existing purchase order by moving the remaining unreceived quantity into a new purchase order. This is useful when, for example, a vendor changes their price after some goods have already been received. Rather than modifying the original PO (which would affect already-posted stock valuations), you split the remaining quantity into a new PO with the updated price.
Key Features
- Split unreceived quantity from a PO into a new purchase order
- Specify the quantity and new price for the new PO
- Original PO quantity and outstanding receipt are automatically adjusted
- Preserves integrity of already-posted stock valuations
- Useful when vendor prices change mid-delivery
For some reason, we need to split purchase orders. For example, if there is a price change from vendor, while some products have been received. We cannot change the price in the current PO, because there will be a difference in stock value. So we need to split the remaining quantity that has not been received into a new PO.
Input quantity and new price for new PO
New PO created
New quantity on current PO and outstanding receive will be adjusted
