POS Manager Discount Control

Supercharge your Point of Sale checkout with secure, manager-approved custom discounts. Predefine allowed discounts, restrict operations based on cashier roles, and display clear audit trails on orderlines and receipts.

Cashier Discounting Workflow

This is how easy it is to apply predefined discounts during a POS checkout:

1. Click Numpad Discount

When a cashier selects an orderline and clicks the **% Discount** button on the numpad, the system automatically checks if custom manager discounts are configured.

2. Select permitted Discount

An Odoo SelectionPopup dialogue lists all permitted custom discounts configured for this Point of Sale. It identifies whether each option is a **Line** or a **Global** discount, and includes a **"Remove Discount"** option.

3. Auto-calculation & Print

The POS applies the discount percentage instantly. For global discounts, it dynamically generates base discount line values grouped by tax rates. The discount name (e.g. "VIP 15%") is saved to the DB and printed on the ticket receipt.

Administrator Configuration

Set up the module in three simple steps:

1. Register Custom Discounts

Go to **Point of Sale > Configuration > Custom Discounts** and click New. Define the name, percentage, and the type (Line Discount or Global Discount).

2. Assign permitted Discounts to POS Settings

Go to **Point of Sale > Configuration > Settings**. Under the POS interface section, select which Custom Discounts are permitted for each of your POS shops.

3. Configure Cashier Roles

Open Odoo employee records and set role permissions (e.g. Manager, Supervisor, Cashier). Cashiers with minimal roles will be blocked from custom discounts unless approved by supervisors.
