Smart Purchase Recommendation System
Standard Odoo replenishment requires manual reorder rules and does not predict demand from actual sales velocity. This module analyzes your Sale and POS order history, calculates the exact reorder quantity needed, and creates grouped vendor RFQs with one click.
Who is this for? Procurement managers and inventory planners using Odoo 18 who want data-driven purchase recommendations instead of manual reorder rules â particularly businesses with seasonal demand or fast-moving product catalogs. Works on Odoo.sh and On-Premise with Multi Company support.
Key Features:
- Intelligent Demand Forecasting Automatically predicts future product demand using historical Sale and POS order data from Odoo 18
- Smart Replenishment Recommends exact reorder quantities by analyzing current stock on hand, incoming shipments, and predicted demand
- Automated RFQ Creation Generates Request for Quotations (RFQs) in Odoo with a single click, grouping items by vendor automatically
- Visual Kanban Interface Manage purchase recommendations with an intuitive card-based Kanban view in Odoo 18
- Configurable Forecast Period Adjust the prediction horizon in Purchase Settings to match your business planning cycle
- Multi Company Support Generates independent recommendations per company in Odoo 18 multi-company environments
Benefits:
- Prevent Stockouts Ensure you always have enough stock to meet customer demand by ordering ahead of actual shortfalls
- Reduce Overstock Order only what you need based on data-driven predictions rather than gut feel or static reorder points
- Save Time Automate the tedious process of calculating reorder quantities and creating POs in Odoo â what used to take hours takes minutes
How it works:
1. Configure Forecast Days in Odoo 18 Purchase Settings
Set the Forecast Days in Purchase Settings to control how far ahead the system predicts demand. For example, 30 days means the module will recommend enough stock to cover the next 30 days based on your sales velocity.
2. Smart Replenishment Menu in Odoo 18 Purchase
A new Smart Replenishment menu is added directly under the Purchase app in Odoo 18. Click 'Generate Recommendations' to trigger demand analysis based on the configured forecast period.
3. Demand Prediction & Kanban View in Odoo 18
After clicking Generate Recommendations, Odoo 18 analyzes your sales history (default: last 90 days) to calculate average daily demand. The Kanban view shows each product needing replenishment with the recommended reorder quantity and forecasted shortfall.
4. One-Click RFQ Creation from Odoo 18 Purchase Recommendations
Select one or multiple recommendations from the list view and use the 'Create RFQ' action. The module automatically groups selected items by their preferred vendor in Odoo.
5. Auto-Generated RFQ in Odoo 18 Purchase
The system creates consolidated Request for Quotations in Odoo grouped by vendor, with recommended quantities and prices pre-filled and ready to send.

Frequently Asked Questions
- How far back does the system look at sales history?
- By default, the module analyzes the last 90 days of Sale and POS order history to calculate average daily demand. This lookback period can be adjusted based on your business needs.
- What if a product has no sales history?
- Products with no sales history in the lookback period will not generate a recommendation, as there is no demand signal to forecast from. You can create manual RFQs for those products.
- Does it work with POS sales data as well as regular sales orders?
- Yes â the demand forecast uses both Sale (SO) and Point of Sale (POS) order history for accurate demand calculation across all sales channels in Odoo 18.
- Is this compatible with Odoo Community edition?
- Yes â compatible with Odoo 18.0 Community and Enterprise on Odoo.sh and On-Premise. Requires the Purchase and Sales modules. Not available for Odoo Online (SaaS).
