Quick Chatter Notes is a powerful productivity enhancement for Odoo that streamlines chatter communication. Instead of typing the same updates or instructions repeatedly, users can build a library of "Quick Notes." A clean popup interface allows users to browse available notes by title and index. With one click, the template content is injected into the chatter, allowing for lightning-fast communication without manual errors. It is an essential tool for Sales, Support, and Project teams who require consistent messaging and efficient workflows.

Create Chatter Notes

After activating the module, navigate to Quick Chatter Note and click New to create a note. Enter the required details, including Title, Note Content, and optionally enable Global Note if the note should be visible to all users. Alternatively, you may select a specific user to restrict visibility so that the note is accessible only to the chosen user.



Accessing Notes in Chatter

To use the saved notes, open any chatter window (for example, in Sales click Send Message). You will see a Notes icon located beside the Emoji icon, allowing quick access to all predefined notes.



Using Notes Through the Popup

After clicking the Notes icon, a popup window will appear displaying the list of saved notes along with their index numbers. For example, if a note titled "Test note for admin" is shown with index number 1, simply type 1 and click OK. The corresponding note content will then be automatically inserted into the chatter message.



Note Successfully Inserted into Chatter

After clicking the OK button, the content associated with the selected title will be automatically inserted into the chatter message. This demonstrates how the feature enables quick and efficient message entry without having to manually retype frequently used text.



Creating a Global Note

We have also created another note named "Global", which is configured as a Global Note. This means it is accessible and usable by all users across the system, regardless of individual assignment.



Accessing Global Notes in the Popup

After creating the global note, you will now see two notes listed in the popup, including the newly added Global note. Since global notes are visible to every user, simply enter its index number to automatically insert its content into the chatter.



Creating User-Specific Notes - Marc

We have also created a new note assigned to a specific user, Marc Demo, as shown in the picture. This note will be visible and usable only by the selected user.



Using User-Specific Notes

When logged in as the demo user, you can see two notes in the popup: the Global Note and the user-specific note assigned to this user. To insert the user-specific note, simply enter its index number (2) and click OK.



Inserting User-Specific Note

After clicking OK, the note assigned to Marc Demo is automatically inserted into the chatter, demonstrating how user-specific notes are applied for the selected user.

Where can I access the notes feature?

The Notes icon is available in the chatter window beside the emoji icon.

How do I insert a predefined note into the chatter?

Open the Notes popup, enter the index number of the note, and click OK to automatically insert the content.

Can I restrict notes to specific users?

Yes, user-wise access control allows notes to be visible only to assigned users.

Does this module work in all Odoo chats?

Yes, it works in any chatter window across Odoo modules such as Sales, CRM, Purchase, etc.

Will the notes affect system performance?

No, it is lightweight and optimized for fast performance.
