Documentation

Twilio

  • Register in Twilio: https://www.twilio.com/
  • Upgrade your Twilio account, minimum amount 20 USD.
  • In the WhatsApp Senders tab, create a new sender with phone number
  • If you don't have your own phone number, you can buy a Twilio phone number and use it to create a Messegine Service

Installation

  • Install this module in according to us_messenger Documentation
  • This module requires the installation of the twilio library, so make sure it is installed before you start setting up

Configuration

In WhatsApp

Find the bot with the created phone number

In Odoo

Please note: Before starting the project, you need to make an additional configuration of the queue_job module. To do this, you need to add the queue_job setting in the server_wide_modules field in the odoo.conf file.

So the setting in your odoo.conf file should look something like this:
server_wide_modules = base,web,queue_job
Without this setting, the jobs that are responsible for sending messages from Odoo to the messenger will have a Pending status.
  • Activate Developer Mode
  • Open menu [[ Settings ]] >> Technical >> Parameters >> System Parameters
  • Check that parameter web.base.url is properly set, and it's accessible over internet (it should not be a localhost). Also, twilio accepts https addresses only (i.e. not http). If you can use only localhost, use ngrok
  • Open menu [[ Messengers ]] >> Messengers
  • Select Kanban card with whatsapp icon and name 'Enter_bot_name' project
  • Enter the WhatsApp token, ID, phone number (should be as in the example, with "whatsapp:" at the beginning) in the required fields, all this is in the Twilio account, also enter the name in the field to create Messaging Services
  • Enter bot name and select the operators with which the user will contact
  • Unarchive the project
  • Click button [Run Now] in the upper left corner

In Twilio

  • Go to WhatsApp Senders, select your sender and assign the created Messaging Service to it
  • Update WhatsApp Sender

Usage

Conversation in Discuss menu

In WhatsApp:

  • begin conversation with created bot
  • enter your email (optionally)

In Odoo:

  • Open [[ Discuss ]] menu
  • RESULT: two contact records will be created, child and parent. Later, other children from different messengers can join the parent record
  • RESULT: there is channel with name WhatsApp:<WHATSAPP NAME>.
  • Open the channel and reply to message

In WhatsApp:

  • RESULT: the message is delivered via bot

You can continue chatting this way

Conversation in any document where there is a chatter

In Odoo:

  • Make sure that in the [[ Messengers ]] >> Messengers >> <Your bot name> >> Parameters you have 'yes' written in CHATTER
  • Add followers to chatter by clicking on button 'Add followers'. Select only parent contacts (without any bot name)
  • Click on button 'Send Message'. Select to whom and in which messenger to send a message. Write message and send. Note: the message will be sent not only in the selected messenger but also by mail. To disable sending by mail you can click button Followers, select follower, click 'Edit subscription', and disable 'Discussions' and enable 'Note'
  • In [[ Discuss ]] menu you will see the message from document with message with signature from which document it was written

In WhatsApp:

  • RESULT: A new message will appear
  • Answer on this message. Note: Reply to a message

In Odoo:

  • RESULT: the message from WhatsApp you will see in chatter document

  • Поповніть рахунок Twilio, мінімальна сума 20 USD.
  • У вкладці WhatsApp Senders створіть нового відправника з номером телефону
  • Якщо у вас немає власного номера телефону, ви можете купити номер телефону Twilio та використовувати його для створення Messegine Service

Інсталяція

  • Встановіть модуль відповідно до документації модуля us_messenger
  • Модуль потребує встановлення бібліотеки twilio, тому переконайтеся, що вона встановлена перед початком налаштування

Знайдіть бота зі створеним номером телефону

В Odoo

Зверніть увагу: Перед запуском проекту необхідно зробити додаткове налаштування модуля queue_job. Для цього вам потрібно додати налаштування queue_job в поле server_wide_modules у файлі odoo.conf. Таким чином, налаштування у вашому файлі odoo.conf має виглядати приблизно так:
server_wide_modules = base,web,queue_job
Без цього налаштування завдання, які відповідають за надсилання повідомлень з Odoo до месенджера, матимуть статус Очікує.
  • Активуйте Режим Розробника
  • Відкрийте меню [[ Налаштування ]] >> Технічні налаштування >> Параметри системи
  • Перевірте, чи правильно встановлено параметр web.base.url та чи доступний він через інтернет (не повинен бути localhost). Також, Twilio приймає тільки https адреси (тобто не http). Якщо ви можете використовувати тільки localhost, скористайтеся ngrok
  • Відкрийте меню [[ Месенджери ]] >> Месенджери
  • Виберіть картку Kanban з іконкою Whatsapp та назвою проекту 'Enter_bot_name'
  • Введіть токен WhatsApp, ID, номер телефону (повинен бути як у прикладі, з "whatsapp:" на початку) у відповідні поля, все це знаходиться в обліковому записі Twilio, також введіть назву у поле для створення Messegine Service
  • Введіть назву бота та виберіть операторів, з якими користувач буде зв'язуватися
  • Розархівуйте проект
  • Натисніть кнопку [Запуск] у верхньому лівому куті

У Twilio

  • Перейдіть до WhatsApp Senders, виберіть вашого відправника та призначте створену Messegine Service для нього
  • Оновіть WhatsApp Sender

Використання

Розмова в меню Discuss

У WhatsApp:

  • почніть розмову зі створеним ботом
  • введіть свою електронну адресу (необов'язково)

В Odoo:

  • Відкрийте меню [[ Обговорення ]]
  • РЕЗУЛЬТАТ: буде створено два записи контактів, дочірній та батьківський. Пізніше, інші діти з різних месенджерів можуть приєднатися до батьківського запису
  • РЕЗУЛЬТАТ: є канал з назвою WhatsApp:<НАЗВА WHATSAPP>.
  • Відкрийте канал та відповідайте на повідомлення

У WhatsApp:

  • РЕЗУЛЬТАТ: повідомлення буде доставлено через бота

Ви можете продовжувати чатити таким чином

Розмова в будь-якому документі, де є обговорення

В Odoo:

  • Переконайтеся, що в [[ Месенджери ]] >> Месенджери >> <Назва вашого бота> >> Параметри ви маєте написано 'yes' в CHATTER
  • Додайте підписників до обговорення, натиснувши кнопку 'Додати підписників'. Вибирайте тільки батьківські контакти (без будь-якої назви бота)
  • Натисніть на кнопку 'Надіслати повідомлення'. Виберіть кому та в якому месенджері надіслати повідомлення. Напишіть повідомлення та надішліть. Примітка: повідомлення буде надіслано не тільки в обраному месенджері, але й поштою. Щоб відключити надсилання поштою, ви можете натиснути кнопку Послідовники, вибрати послідовника, натиснути 'Редагувати підписку', та вимкнути 'Обговорення' і ввімкнути 'Примітка'
  • У меню [[ Обговорення ]] ви побачите повідомлення з документа з підписом, з якого документа воно було написане

У WhatsApp:

  • РЕЗУЛЬТАТ: З'явиться нове повідомлення
  • Дайте відповідь на це повідомлення. Примітка: Відповісти на повідомлення

В Odoo:

  • РЕЗУЛЬТАТ: повідомлення з WhatsApp, яке ви побачите в документі чату
