It supports two generation modes Text Only, which adds a new content section to your template, and Full Design, which completely redesigns the entire email layout, colors, and structure to match your campaign.
The module integrates seamlessly with three leading AI providers OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), and Google Gemini giving you the flexibility to choose the model that best fits your needs and budget. A clean wizard-based interface guides you through the entire process: describe your campaign, select the generation type, preview the generated template, and apply it to your mailing with a single click. Every generation is automatically logged with full details including the provider used, model and tokens consumed.

01 Search for the module by name in the Odoo Apps list and the AI Email Template Generator appears with the technical name ai_email_template_generator. Click the Activate button to install the module and all AI email generation features become available inside the Email Marketing app automatically.
02 Once the module is installed, navigate to the Email Marketing app from the Odoo home screen. All AI features added by this module are accessible directly from inside the Email Marketing app without any separate application or additional navigation required.
03 From the AI Configuration menu inside Email Marketing, you can configure your preferred AI provider by selecting from OpenAI (ChatGPT), Anthropic (Claude), or Google Gemini using the radio selector. Once a provider is selected, the corresponding API key field and model dropdown appear below where you can enter your credentials and choose the specific LLM model, so the entire generation runs on the provider and model of your choice.
04 Inside any mailing record, a Generate with AI button is added to the standard action bar alongside Send, Schedule, and Test. Clicking this button opens the AI generation wizard directly from the mailing form without leaving the page, making it easy to generate a template for any mailing in one click.
05 Opening the wizard shows the AI Email Generator with the active provider displayed in the top right badge — confirming which AI provider will be used for the generation. The Campaign Prompt field is where you describe your email campaign in plain language. The Generation Type section lets you choose between Text Only, which adds a new content section to your template, and Full Design, which completely redesigns the entire email layout, colors, and structure based on your prompt.
06 After the AI completes the generation, the wizard displays the Preview Generated Template section showing the full generated HTML output inline so you can review it before applying anything to the mailing. From here you can click Apply to Mailing to confirm the result, Regenerate to run the AI again with the same prompt, or Close to discard the result and return to the mailing.
After confirming the AI-generated template in Text Only mode, the new content section is written directly into the mailing body. The generated section includes a headline, paragraph, and call to action button added to the existing template layout without affecting any other sections already present in the mailing.
07 In Full Design mode, the AI completely redesigns the entire email with a new layout, color scheme, sections, product cards, CTA buttons, header, and footer — all generated from the campaign prompt alone. The full preview is shown inside the wizard before anything is applied, allowing you to review the complete design and decide whether to apply it or regenerate.
08 After applying the Full Design result, the complete AI-generated email is loaded directly into the standard Odoo email body. All generated sections follow Odoo's native snippet structure so they are immediately compatible with the editor's Blocks, Style, and Design tools without any manual adjustments.
09 The AI Configuration menu in the Email Marketing top navigation provides two options — AI Provider to manage the active provider settings and API credentials, and AI Log to view the complete history of all past AI generation runs across all mailings.
10 The AI Log list shows a complete record of every AI generation run with the Reference number, Date, Mailing name, Provider, Total Tokens consumed, and Status for each entry. Every successful and failed generation is recorded here automatically giving you full visibility into all AI activity across your Email Marketing campaigns.
11 Opening any log entry shows the full run detail including the Mailing name, Generation Type, and Status in the Details section, and the Provider, Model, and Total Tokens in the Provider Information section. The Log Message at the bottom confirms the template generated successfully,

Does the AI change the existing mailing body directly?No, the AI never modifies your existing mailing body automatically. The generated template is shown in a preview inside the wizard first and is only applied to the mailing when you click Apply to Mailing, so your existing content always remains untouched until you confirm. |
