Install the module

Upload the zip via Apps → Upload Module or copy the ai_mail_chatter_action folder to your addons path, then install from the Apps menu.

Configure your AI Provider

Go to Settings → Technical → AI Chatter Summarizer → AI Providers. Add your API key. For free usage, use Groq — get a free key at console.groq.com in under 2 minutes.

Set default provider in Settings

Go to Settings → AI Chatter Summarizer, select your default provider and set the max messages limit.

Configure Weekly Digest (optional)

Under Settings → AI Chatter Summarizer → Weekly Digest, add recipient users. The cron runs automatically every Monday at 07:00. Trigger manually from Technical → Weekly Digest Runs.

Click ✦ AI Summarize on any record

Open any record. Click the ✦ AI Summarize button in the chatter toolbar. The structured summary appears instantly as a pinned note.

Does it work on custom models?

Yes. The button is injected into the mail.thread mixin which every model with a chatter inherits. It works automatically on any standard or custom Odoo model.

Can I use it for free?

Yes. Configure Groq as your provider — it is completely free with generous rate limits. No credit card required. Get your free API key at console.groq.com.

In which language does it summarise?

The AI automatically detects and replies in the same language as the chatter messages. Arabic, French, Spanish, and others are all supported.

Is my data sent to third parties?

Only the chatter message text is sent to your chosen AI provider. No other Odoo data is transmitted. You control which provider you use.

Does it conflict with other chatter modules?

No. The module only adds a new button and a new internal note. It does not modify any existing chatter behaviour.
