Authorize.Net - Point of Sale

Authorize.Net is a payment gateway service provider that allows businesses to accept online payments, credit cards, debit cards, and eChecks securely.

This module facilitates Point of Sale users or managers to do a payment trasaction through Authorize.Net payment method directly from Point of sale session without changing any screen

After a Point of Sale payment receipt will be generated, system also display, payment reference along with card tokenized details - Point of sale users can also save credit card details in case of token for quick payment checkout process for a customer

Please note

  • This module doesn't provide integration via Authorize.Net Payment Terminal
  • As per PCI DSS guidelines defined by the PCI Security Standards Council, this module does not store any sensitive credit card information.

Key Features
Direct Payment through POS

This module facilitates direct Authorize.Net payment via Point of sale screen, without changing any window

Users can complete Authorize.Net payments directly within the Odoo POS screen, without any redirection or screen change.
Partial payment POS users will be able to do partial payments via Authorize.Net payment method through Point of Sale
Full Payment POS users will be able to do full payments via Authorize.Net payment method through Point of Sale
Save/Delete Credit card POS users will be able to save customer's credit cards in a tokenized way or POS manager will be able to delete them
Compatibility This module is compatible with Odoo standard Retail and Restaurant kind of sessions and with multi company and multi branch scenario
User Guide
Configuration

After installing our module, go to Invoicing-> Configuration->Payment providers

Step 1: Active/Go to Authorize.Net payment provider and fill up details like

API Login ID

API Signature Key

Configure API Client key

Step 2: Go to Point of Sale-> Configuration-> Payment methods

Create a new Payment method as Authorize.Net, do the configuration as following

  • Select Online Payment checkbox
  • Select Authorize Payment checkbox, this is very important
  • In Allowed Providers - select Authorize.Net payment provider
  • Assign Point of Sale session
Full payments

Step 1:Go to Point of Sale Dashboard and open POS Retail or Restaurant session

Step 2:Generate POS order

Step 3:Do the payment, select Authorize Payment method and then click on Validate button

Step 4:After clicking on Validate button, system will generate a wizard in which you will have to fill up card details, if user wants to save credit card then he can also save it by clicking on Save my payment details checkbox

Step 5:After a successful payment will be done, POS receipt will be generated, Along with

- Provider name

- Card number

- Card type

- Transaction ID

Step 6:At Authorize Merchant account side also, you can see payment transaction details

Step 7:At Odoo side, at the backend side you can see POS order status as Fully Invoiced

In POS order, under Payments tab, you can see Payment method as Authorize.Net

Step 8:Payment transaction screen that is linked with related POS order

Partial payments

Step 1:Generate Point of sale order by selecting a customer

Step 2:While doing payment, please select multiple payment method, for example one payment method is Cash and another payment method is Authorize.Net

Step 3:Click on Validate payment and a pop up wizard will be generated, in which provide Authorize.Net Credit card details

Step 4:Confirm the payment and the POS payment screen will be generated along with Payment provider details

Step 5:Payment transaction details on Authorize.Net merchant account

Step 6:Point of sale order details at Odoo backend side

Under Payment tab of Point of Sale, users will be able to see Payment provider and how much amount is paid with Authorize.Net

Step 7:Payment transaction details which is linked with Point of sale order

Save Credit Card

Step 1:Generate Point of Sale order

Step 2:Generate a payment and go with Authorize.Net payment method

Step 3:Click on validate button, a pop up wizard will be generated, click on Saved card buttons, all saved cards will be displayed on wizard, please select card and then click on Confirm button

Step 4:Odoo will generate POS receipt along with payment details

Step 5:At Authorize.Net merchant account, payment details will be also generated

Step 6:Point of sale order details at Odoo backend side

Under Payment tab of Point of Sale, users will be able to see Payment provider and how much amount is paid with Authorize.Net

Step 7:Payment transaction details which is linked with Point of sale order

Please Note:

Point of Sale user and point of sale manager both will be able to save credit card token, but only point of sale manager will be able to delete saved credit card payment token

Yes, users can process payments directly within the Odoo POS screen without any redirection.

Yes, the module supports both full payments and split/partial payments using multiple payment methods.

Yes, customer card details can be securely saved using tokenization for faster future transactions.

Yes, POS managers can delete saved customer card details at any time.

Yes, it is fully compatible with multi-company setups in Odoo.

No, this module does not support integration with Authorize.Net physical terminals.

You can view transactions in both:

Authorize.Net Merchant Account

You need:

Yes, you can combine Authorize.Net with other payment methods like Cash.
