Overview
Barcode Multi-User PIN Authentication
Barcode Multi-User PIN Authentication enhances Odoo's Barcode application by adding secure
employee verification during inventory operations.
The module requires employees to enter their assigned PIN before accessing transfer operations,
ensuring accountability and accurate tracking of inventory activities.
Each validated transfer is automatically linked to the employee who performed the operation,
providing improved security and auditability.

Configuration
Configuration for Barcode Multi-User PIN Authentication :
- Under the “Barcode Multi-User” section, you will find the "Use Barcode PIN" checkbox.
Use Barcode PIN = Enabled
- When enabled, users must enter their assigned Barcode PIN before performing any transfer operation through the barcode scanner.
- After successful PIN verification, the user can proceed with the transfer and perform the required actions.
Use Barcode PIN = Disabled
- When disabled, users can perform barcode scanning operations without being prompted to enter a PIN.
Employee PIN Configuration
- To assign a Barcode PIN to an employee:
- Go to “Employees”.
- Open the desired employee record.
- Navigate to the “Settings” tab.
- Under the “Barcode Multi-User” section, locate the “Barcode PIN” field.
- Enter the employee's PIN and save the record.
- This PIN will be required when the employee performs inventory operations using the barcode scanner.
Unique Employee PIN Validation :
- Each employee must have a unique Barcode PIN. If the entered PIN is already assigned to another employee, a validation error will be displayed, preventing duplicate PIN assignments.
Workflow
- A user starts an inventory operation using the Barcode application and scans a transfer.
- If “Use Barcode PIN” is enabled for the logged-in user, a PIN verification popup is displayed.
- The user enters the Barcode PIN assigned to the corresponding employee record.
- If the PIN is valid:
- The transfer is opened successfully.
- The user can perform the required inventory operations.
- The transfer can be processed and validated.
- The employee who authenticated with the PIN is automatically recorded in the “Barcode Employee” field on the transfer.
- If an invalid PIN is entered : Access to the transfer is denied, the user cannot proceed with any transfer operations until a valid PIN is provided.
