1. Installation

Step 1: Go to Apps, find the "Binotel Integration" and "Binotel Integration for CRM" modules, and click Install.

For the integration to work correctly, you must install four modules(if you want to work with CRM feаtures). You can install all pack automatically(by installing Binotel Integration for CRM, but check if all of it are installed. CRM will be installed automatically).

  1. Phone Calls (The base module)
  2. Phone Calls for CRM (Add base for CRM features)
  3. Binotel Integration (This integration module)
  4. Binotel Integration for CRM (Add CRM features for integration)

2. Configuration

Step 2: Configure the Base "Phone Calls" Module

Before integrating Binotel, ensure the core module is set up correctly.

2.1. Assign User Roles

Navigate to Settings → Users & Companies → Users to configure access rights. Set "Phone calls" permissions to either Administrator (full access) or Officer (access to own calls only).

2.2. Set Up Automation & CRM Rules

Go to Settings → Phone calls. Here you can configure automation and decide how calls interact with your CRM.

Set autocreate Opportunities
  • CRM Integration: Automatically create new CRM Оpportunities from calls. You can specify whether to create оpportunities from incoming, outgoing, or all calls.
Set automatic archiving and deletion of old call records
  • CRM Integration: Automatically add new calls from client to existed opportunity with this client.
  • Auto Archive: Enable this to automatically archive call records after a specified number of weeks to keep your active list clean.
  • Auto Delete: For complete database maintenance, set a period after which archived call records will be permanently deleted.

Step 3: Configure the "Binotel" Integration

3.0. Set Up the Webhook and get Binotel API Credentials(In one request to Binotel support)

  • Please give to binotel support the following URL, replacing your_odoo_domain with your actual Odoo address: http:///binotel_integration for integration.
  • Please inform binotel administrator that request must be sent in the type: apiCallSettings, apiCallCompleted and ask for binotel key, binotel secret and binotel company id

3.1. Enter Binotel API Credentials

Navigate to Settings → Users & Companies → Companies. Open your company record, go to the "Phone calls" tab, and paste your Binotel key, Binotel secret and Binotel company id from your Binotel dashboard.

3.2. Configure User SIP Identifiers

Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users, open a user profile, and enter their internal Binotel SIP-Identifier in the "Phone calls" tab. This is critical for making and routing calls.

How It Works

Integrated Call Initiation

The Binotel module provides several convenient points within the Odoo interface to initiate calls, ensuring that all communications are tracked centrally.

  • Click-to-Call in the Contact Form: A "Click-to-Call" button, marked with a "B", is available directly next to the Phone and Mobile fields on the contact form. This allows for quick dialing while viewing customer details.
  • From a CRM Opportunity: To streamline the sales process, the same "Click-to-Call" button is also present next to the Phone field on the CRM Opportunity form. This triggers the same call method, linking the action directly to your sales activities.
  • Dialing from the Binotel: While not initiated from the Odoo interface, any outbound call you make directly from your Binotel softphone application will still be logged in Odoo. The system's webhook controller listens for events from Binotel and will create a call record in your history automatically.

Real-Time Call Notifications

For incoming calls, the assigned manager receives a real-time notification from OdooBot.

Visual Call Management (Kanban)

The Kanban view helps to visualize calls based on their current stage: New, In Progress, Done, Dialed, or Missed.

Detailed Call History (List View)

The list view provides a detailed summary of all calls. Missed calls are highlighted in red.

Comprehensive Call Details

Each call record contains comprehensive details, including start/answer times, duration, a link to the CRM opportunity, and the call recording.

Live Call Transfer

A unique feature for Binotel is the ability to transfer a call. From an active call's form, click the "Transfer call" button to open a wizard and select another employee to redirect the call to.

Automated Call Logging(if this functionality is turned on)

The integration automatically logs all related calls directly within the "Call History" tab on the opportunity's form.

Flexible Opportunity Linking

While calls are automatically linked, you can manually re-assign a call to a different opportunity by simply editing the "CRM Card" field on the call's form. This gives you full control over your data.

Frequently Asked Questions

What happens if a customer calls from a number not saved in Odoo?

A new contact record is automatically created in Odoo using the caller's phone number as their name. The call log is then linked to this new contact, ensuring no interaction is lost.

How often does the system check for new recordings?

The background task runs every 3 minutes to download new recordings from Binotel.
