The Inventory Valuation Report sits inside Inventory, Reporting, alongside the other stock reports your team already knows, so finding it takes no training.

Set Company, Dates, and Filters

Pick the company, the From and To date for the period, then narrow the report by warehouse, internal location, a single product, or a product category. Anything left empty falls back to the full scope.

Costing Method, Report Mode, and Quantity Style

Limit the report to Standard Price, Average Cost, or FIFO, or include them all. Choose Detailed for product lines, Summary for category roll-ups, or Grand Total for a single bottom line. Pick Signed or Absolute quantities to suit the reader.

Display Options and Output Buttons

Tick Show Zero Quantity to keep out-of-stock items visible, Include Adjustments to count inventory corrections, and Include Internal Transfers when those moves matter. Three buttons at the bottom open the report on screen, print a PDF, or download Excel.

On-Screen Valuation Breakdown

Each row shows code, product, category, unit of measure, and the full chain of numbers: Opening Qty and Value, Purchase Qty and Value, Sales Qty and Value, Adjustment Qty, and Closing Qty and Value. Category subtotals and a Grand Total at the bottom keep the figures easy to read.

Optional Analysis Columns

Open the column picker to add Unit Cost, Adjustment Value, Internal Transfer Quantity, FIFO Remaining Quantity, and FIFO Remaining Value when you need a deeper audit, or hide them again for a cleaner view.

Filter and Group the Result

Ready-made filters jump straight to Product Lines, Category Subtotals, Grand Total, Non-Zero Closing, Balance Warning, or a specific costing method. Group By organises the result by Category, Cost Method, or Company.

PDF Report with Subtotals and Grand Total

The printed PDF carries the company header, the period, and the applied filters, then lists every product with its Opening, Purchase, Sales, Adjustment, and Closing columns. Category subtotals and a final Grand Total close the report, with footnotes explaining the source data and costing legend.

Excel Export for Auditors and Finance

The Excel file mirrors the on-screen and PDF columns with light category bands, bold subtotals, and a Grand Total row. Drop it into a working file when external auditors or finance need to run their own formulas or pivots.
