⚙️ How the Helpdesk Approval Workflow Works

  1. Enable the approval process for a specific Helpdesk team
  2. Create or update a Helpdesk stage under that team
  3. Submit the ticket for approval
  4. Manager reviews the ticket
  5. Ticket is approved or rejected based on defined rules

⚠️ Important Notes & Best Practices

This module works best with a fresh Helpdesk setup where no tickets exist across all Helpdesk teams.

Using the module on an existing Helpdesk with active or historical tickets may require additional adjustments or data cleanup.

For Helpdesk teams where the approval process is enabled, some standard Odoo Helpdesk behaviors are intentionally restricted to ensure workflow control:

  • Kanban drag-and-drop stage updates are disabled
  • Tickets cannot be moved freely between stages
  • Each Helpdesk team operates with a single controlled stage
  • Ticket progression is managed strictly through the approval process

These limitations are by design and help enforce approval rules, prevent unauthorized actions, and maintain process integrity.
