POS Customer Credit Management
The POS Customer Credit Management module enables Point of Sale users to sell products on customer credit while maintaining full control over credit limits and balances. It allows you to assign a credit limit to each customer and use Credit as a payment method in POS. The system automatically tracks used and remaining credit in real time and prevents order validation when a customer exceeds their allowed credit limit, ensuring secure and well-controlled credit sales.
Features
Customer Credit Limit Management
This feature allows you to define a specific credit limit for each customer directly from the customer form. The system continuously tracks how much credit has been used and how much is still available. Credit information is automatically updated after every POS order, ensuring accurate and real-time credit control across the system.
Credit Validation & Limit Enforcement
To prevent over-crediting, the system validates the customerâs remaining credit before confirming a POS order. If the order total exceeds the available credit balance, POS validation is blocked and a warning message is displayed.

1.) Enable POS Credit Limit in Settings
Activating the POS Credit Limit option allows credit control for Point of Sale transactions. Once enabled, the system enforces customer-specific credit limits during sales. This ensures that credit usage is tracked and validated automatically.
Navigation : Setting → INKERP → POS Credit Limit
2.) Configure Credit Payment Method
The Credit payment method is configured within the Point of Sale settings to support customer credit transactions. Marking it as a credit journal ensures that all credit-based payments are properly recorded. This configuration allows the Credit option to appear during POS checkout.
Navigation : Point of Sale → Configuration → POS Payment Methods
3.) Define Customer Credit Limits
Customer credit permissions and limits are managed from the customer profile. Enabling credit allows sales to be processed without immediate payment. A credit limit and warning threshold can be defined to control exposure. The system continuously tracks the credited amount against the allowed limit.
Navigation : Point of Sale → Customer → Sales & Purchase → Credit
4.) Monitor Customer Credit in POS
Customer credit details are visible during POS operations, providing quick insight into available and used credit. This helps ensure that sales remain within approved limits. Cashiers can easily verify credit eligibility before proceeding.
5.) Process Sales Using Credit
Credit can be selected as a payment method during POS checkout for eligible customers. The order total is assigned to the customerâs credit balance instead of immediate payment. The remaining payable amount is automatically adjusted.
6.) Update Customer Credit Balance
After confirming a credit-based sale, the customerâs credited amount is updated automatically. The change is reflected instantly in the customer record. This ensures accurate tracking of outstanding credit. The process remains synchronized across POS and backend records.
Navigation : Point of Sale → Customer → Sales & Purchase → Credit
7.) Review Credit Usage Across Customers
The customer selection list provides a clear overview of each customerâs used credit and total credit limit. This allows fast comparison and monitoring of credit exposure. Staff can quickly identify customers nearing their limits.
8.) Prevent Credit Limit
When a credit transaction exceeds the allowed limit, validation is restricted. The system enforces credit policies automatically to avoid overexposure. Alternative payment methods must be used to complete the sale.
9.) Credit Limit Warning Message
A warning message appears when the customerâs credit limit is exceeded. It clearly indicates the allowed limit and the current credit usage. The message guides users to select a different payment method. This ensures transparency and prevents unauthorized credit usage.
