POS Payment Method Update with Access Control
POS Payment Method Update with Access Control allows authorized users to securely change the payment method of confirmed or paid POS orders directly from the backend. This module provides a safe and controlled way to correct payment method mistakes without affecting the order total or accounting data. It is especially helpful when a cashier selects the wrong payment method or when a customer decides to use a different payment type after the order has been validated.
Features
. Secure Payment Method Update After Validation
This feature allows authorized users to update the payment method even after a POS order has been confirmed or paid. In standard Odoo, payment methods cannot be changed once validated, but this module removes that limitation in a secure way.
User-Based Access Control
The module includes a dedicated access right that restricts payment method updates to selected users only. This ensures that only managers or authorized staff can make financial modifications. It helps maintain internal control, prevents misuse, and keeps your accounting data secure.

1.) Enable POS Payment Method Update
Activate the payment method update feature from the settings panel. This option allows administrators to control whether payment method modification is available in the system. Once enabled, authorized users can update payment methods in POS orders securely.
2.) Assign User Permission
Grant the Update POS Payment Method access right to selected users. Only users with this permission can modify payment methods in confirmed or paid POS orders. This ensures proper control over financial changes.
3.) Update Option in POS Order
An Update button is available in the Payments tab of the POS order. Authorized users can initiate the payment method correction directly from the order without canceling or recreating it.
4.) Payment Method Update Wizard
A simple popup allows the user to select a new payment method for the selected POS order. The process is quick, secure, and confirms the change without affecting the order total.
5.) Payment Method Successfully Updated
After confirmation, the new payment method is applied to the POS order. The order total and accounting values remain unchanged while the payment method is correctly updated.
