1.) Navigating to the Kiosk Configuration
To set up and customize your app, log in to your Odoo backend and navigate to Settings > Price Checker (or click Configuration within the Price Checker app menu). From this central dashboard, administrators can easily toggle specific display features, define barcode search parameters, select which warehouses to track for inventory, and upload custom branding elements like company logos and background images.
2.) Launching the Price Checker Kiosk Interface
Navigate to the Price Checker app module in your Odoo backend and click on the Price Checker menu item. This will immediately open the frontend kiosk interface in your browser.
3.) Interactive Self-Service Interface & Virtual Keyboard
The customer-facing idle screen features a clean, distraction-free design. It includes a prominent search bar and an intuitive, touch-friendly virtual keyboard, allowing customers to easily interact with the kiosk even if they don't have a barcode to scan.
4.) Quick Manual Product Search
If a barcode is damaged or missing, customers can use the on-screen keyboard to manually type partial barcodes, internal reference codes, or product names. The system captures the input instantly, ready to query the database.
5.) Detailed Product Information Card
Once a product is scanned or searched, a clean and detailed information card appears. It displays the product image, base price, specific attributes (like weight and category), dynamic promotional pricelists, and real-time stock availability across different warehouses.
6.) Dedicated Kiosk User Redirection
Secure your retail hardware by configuring dedicated kiosk user accounts. By simply checking the "Redirect to Checker Kiosk" box in the user's profile, administrators can ensure the account acts strictly as a self-service terminal.
7.) Seamless Login Integration
The app integrates perfectly with Odoo's standard authentication. When your configured "Kiosk" user logs in here, the system entirely bypasses the Odoo backend dashboard and automatically redirects the device into the full-screen price checker interface.
