Instead of opening different applications and searching individually, users can enter a keyword once and instantly view matching results from all configured models.

Enable the "Global Search Configuration" menu from Settings to display the searchbar and get started with configuring the module.
Configure the objects to be included in Global Search - select any Odoo model to make it searchable from the global bar.
Select the object/model, name field, and model fields to search on.
One-to-many fields can also be configured using the smart button.
A wizard opens to configure one-to-many fields for the selected object - enabling deep relational search across linked records.
The Global Search bar is visible to all Odoo internal users - type any keyword to search across all configured objects instantly.
Search results are displayed grouped by object type - making it easy to distinguish results from Products, Customers, Sales Orders, Invoices, and more.
Clicking on any search result redirects the user directly to that record in new tab - providing instant access without any additional navigation.
The record count for each model is displayed, with results limited to 10 entries initially. Additional records can be viewed using the âSee more resultsâ option.
Navigate to Settings > Users & Companies to verify that Multi-Company is enabled. The search results are then filtered and displayed according to the selected companies.
In a multi-company environment, each search result displays its associated company name, ensuring clear identification of records across different companies.
Search by message, subject, or any chatter content - find records based on internal notes attached to any Odoo object.
Enable the "Enable Menu Global Search" and "Enable Message/Chatter Search" option to allow users to search and navigate directly to any Odoo menu or messages from the global search bar.
When "Enable Menu Global Search" option is enabled, the search also includes menu items.
Configure the minimum number of characters required before the search is triggered - preventing unnecessary queries on very short inputs.
Use the cancel button to clear the search value instantly.
The five most recent search entries are displayed to facilitate quicker and easier searching.
