What is the Purpose of Website Product Quantity Rules for eCommerce?
- Product Quantity Rules for eCommerce helps businesses control how customers purchase products through their Odoo online store. By defining quantity restrictions at the product level, merchants can ensure orders comply with packaging requirements, inventory policies, and sales strategies.
- Many businesses require customers to purchase products in specific quantities. Wholesale suppliers often enforce minimum order quantities, manufacturers may sell products in predefined pack sizes, and retailers sometimes limit purchases to prevent stock shortages. This module provides the flexibility to manage all these scenarios directly within Odoo.
- The minimum quantity feature ensures customers purchase at least the required amount before adding a product to their cart. This is particularly useful for wholesale stores and products with minimum order requirements.
- The maximum quantity feature restricts customers from purchasing more than the allowed quantity in a single order. Businesses can use this functionality to prevent stock depletion, manage limited inventory, or enforce customer-specific purchasing limits.
- The quantity step feature allows products to be purchased only in predefined multiples. For example, if a product is sold in packs of 6, customers can order quantities such as 6, 12, 18, or 24 while preventing invalid quantities like 7 or 13.
- All quantity rules work seamlessly together on the website product page. The quantity selector automatically follows the configured restrictions, while validation messages provide clear guidance whenever customers attempt to enter an invalid quantity.
- With simple product-level configuration and no technical knowledge required, this module gives Odoo store owners complete control over product quantity management and ordering rules.
