Favorite Menu Bookmark

The Favorite Menu Bookmark module enhances productivity by allowing administrators to configure a personalized set of frequently-used menus for each user. These bookmarked menus appear in a clean, user-friendly dropdown, enabling users to quickly access essential menus without navigating through complex Odoo menu structures.

This enhancement significantly improves navigation efficiency within the Odoo platform, allowing users to quickly access the tools and resources they use most often.

1. Favorite Menu Icon.

Once you install Favourite Menu Bookmark module you will see this button.This button represents the Favorite Menus shortcut, which users can click to quickly access saved favorite menu items.

2. User Configuration.

Go to Users
Open Preferences tab, you will see a new section called Favorite Menus. The dropdown list contains various Odoo menu items that the user can select to mark as favorites.

3. No Favorite Menus Selected.

Here, you can see that he "No favorite menus selected", indicating that no menu items have been configured yet as favorites.

4. Multiple Favorite Menus Selected.

Here, you can see that we have select Settings / General Settings, Invoicing / Customers / Invoices, and Invoicing / Vendors / Vendors

5. Favorite Menus Dropdown Expanded.

After adding favorite menus, the user clicks on the star icon in the top-right of the screen. A dropdown menu appears, showing the list of favorite menu shortcuts:
Settings / General Settings
Invoicing / Customers / Invoices
Invoicing / Vendors / Vendors
This allows quick navigation anywhere in Odoo.

6. Invoices List View After Using Favorite Menu.

Here, you can see that we navigate to the invoice list after clicking on the invoice.

What does this module do?

This module allows administrators to assign a customized list of favorite menus to each user. The assigned favorites appear as a quick-access dropdown in the Odoo top-right systray for faster navigation.

Where can admins configure favorite menus?

Admins can set favorite menus from:
Settings -> Users & Companies -> Users -> Preferences -> Favorite Menus

Can regular users add or remove their own favorite menus?

No, Only administrators or users with the required configuration access can modify favorite menus. Regular users can only view and use the favorites assigned to them.

How do users access their favorite menus?

Users click on the star icon (*) button of top-right corner. A dropdown will appear showing all their assigned favorite menus.

Does this module modify existing Odoo menus?

No, The module does not change core menus or system structure. It only provides shortcuts to existing menus.

Can admins assign the same favorite menus to multiple users?

Yes, Admins can configure favorites for each user individually, and they can replicate the same selection across multiple users manually.

Is it possible to reorder favorite menus?

By default, favorites appear in the order they were assigned. You can modify the order by reassigning the menu items in the desired sequence.
