What the pack unlocks

Returns start three ways Authorise one in Odoo from the original sales order, let the 3PL tell you about one a customer sent back on their own, or catch a courier bouncing an undeliverable parcel. All three become the same RMA document, numbered and with full chatter. |
Return labels Where the provider issues them, the label comes back with a tracking number and is attached to the RMA, ready to send to your customer - no logging into a warehouse portal to fetch a PDF. |

Graded receipts What the warehouse actually received is what gets booked. Restockable goods land in a returns location that sits outside your sellable tree, so they never inflate availability until someone transfers them back. Anything the 3PL grades damaged goes to its own location instead, with the grading recorded on the line. |
Credit notes, once A received return can raise a draft credit note against the original invoice, for the quantities the warehouse confirmed - once, never twice, and never posted behind your back. Nothing that cannot be matched to an order is booked without a person saying so. |
All features work with whichever provider adapters you have installed, subject to each provider's capabilities - the pack unlocks the flows, the adapters speak each provider's API. Providers without a returns API simply do not offer the switch.
Setup in three steps
- Install this pack alongside the 3PL Connector core app and at least one provider adapter that supports returns.
- Switch on Sync Returns on your instance, press Create Returns Locations so returned stock has somewhere to land, and set which grading words mean damaged.
- Let it poll - returns arrive as RMAs on their own schedule, or raise one yourself from a despatched order, and every step is recorded in the Sync Log.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need the core app?
Yes - this is a capability pack for the 3PL Connector, not a
standalone app. It unlocks the returns flows inside the core app and
does nothing on its own.
Is this the same as the Inbound pack?
No. Inbound is goods arriving from your suppliers - ASNs out,
goods-received confirmations back. Returns is stock coming back from
your customers, with its own documents, its own locations and credit
notes at the end. Buy either, both or neither.
Will returned stock inflate my available quantity?
No. Restockable returns are received into a returns location outside
the warehouse's stock tree, so they do not count towards availability
or reservations until you transfer them back deliberately. Damaged
goods go somewhere else again.
What happens to existing data if I uninstall?
The returns switch, the Returns page and the return buttons
disappear, and returns polling stops. Your RMAs, locations, stock and
sync history stay untouched - reinstall the pack and everything is
back where you left it.
I am an existing customer upgrading from an earlier version - what changes?
Nothing. Returns used to be part of the core app; databases upgrading
from an earlier version get this pack installed automatically, so
every flow you had keeps working.
