-
Repair Inspection Users can easily navigate to the dedicated Inspections menu within the Repair application to access a comprehensive list view of all machine repair inspections. From this centralized dashboard, Repair Inspection Managers and Repair Inspection Users can quickly initiate a new structured inspection request by clicking the New button. This ensures that all equipment diagnostic processes are easily accessible, well-organized, and consistently tracked throughout the machine repair lifecycle.
Initiating a New Machine Repair Inspection Request Form
-
Upon creating a new inspection request, Repair Inspection Users are presented with a comprehensive blank form designed to capture all necessary diagnostic details. The assigned Repair Inspection User can easily populate critical information, including the associated project, work order, machine repair reference, and the specific inspection type required. The interface also features dedicated tabs for adding granular inspection line items, internal notes, result descriptions, and photographic evidence to ensure thorough documentation before confirming the request.
Detailed Machine Repair Inspection Request Form with Inspection Lines
-
Once the Repair Inspection User populates the inspection request, all critical linkages to the specific Project, Work Order, and Machine Repair reference are clearly established on the main form. Under the specifically highlighted "Inspection Lines" tab, the Repair Inspection User can record detailed, multi-point diagnostic checks, assigning exact inspection results and descriptive notes to each individual line item. This structured data entry ensures a comprehensive, objective, and auditable record of the machine's condition prior to or following the execution of repair activities.
Machine Repair Inspection Request with Internal Note Tab
-
The Internal Note tab provides a dedicated space within the Machine Repair Inspection form for Repair Inspection Users and Repair Inspection Managers to log private remarks, historical asset data, or specific diagnostic hypotheses. This allows the Repair Inspection User to communicate crucial underlying issues or targeted recommendations directly to the repair execution team without exposing this information on customer-facing documents. By capturing these vital contextual insights, service departments can improve repair accuracy and prevent recurring equipment failures.
Confirm Machine Repair Inspection Request
-
Once all preliminary diagnostic details, inspection lines, and internal notes have been accurately populated, the Repair Inspection User can click the "Confirm" button to validate the record. This action transitions the Machine Repair Inspection request from the initial "Draft" state to the "Confirmed" state. Confirming the document formally initiates the inspection workflow, signaling to the maintenance team that the evaluation parameters are locked in and ready for active processing.
Tracking Confirmation Details in Machine Repair Inspection Request
-
Once the Machine Repair Inspection request is confirmed, the system automatically captures critical audit information under the "Other Info" tab. It securely logs the name of the Repair Inspection User who authorized the document alongside the exact confirmation date, ensuring complete accountability for the quality assurance process. The record successfully transitions to the "Confirmed" stage, making the "Process" button available for the Repair Inspection User to begin executing the active diagnostic checks.
Processing the Confirmed Machine Repair Inspection
-
After the inspection request has been successfully confirmed by the Repair Inspection Manager, the assigned Repair Inspection User can initiate the active evaluation phase by clicking the highlighted "Process" button. This action indicates that the physical inspection of the machine is currently underway and transitions the document's state accordingly. It enables Repair Inspection Users to actively record real-time diagnostic data and findings against the predefined inspection lines.
Tracking Processing Audit Details and Finalizing Inspection
-
Once the active inspection is finished, the system securely logs the Repair Inspection User and exact timestamp within the Other Info tab to maintain a rigorous audit trail. The request seamlessly advances to the Processed stage, enabling Repair Inspection Managers to review the finalized diagnostic results.
Detailed Result Description in Machine Repair Inspection
-
The Result Description tab allows Repair Inspection Users to provide a comprehensive, narrative summary of their diagnostic findings once the inspection is completed. In this dedicated field, Repair Inspection Users can expand upon the individual line items to deliver a clear, overarching conclusion regarding the machine's condition, detailing specific failures, potential causes, and recommended next steps for the repair team. This detailed text serves as the primary diagnostic conclusion for both internal records and potential customer reporting.
Attaching Visual Evidence via Inspection Photos Tab
-
To support the diagnostic findings, the Inspection Photos tab enables the Repair Inspection User to upload and manage visual evidence directly within the machine repair inspection record. Repair Inspection Users can attach multiple images, such as close-ups of damaged components, thermal imaging results, or overall machine condition photos, providing undeniable visual proof to back up the inspection results.
Completed Machine Repair Inspection Audit Logging
-
Upon successful completion of the inspection, the system updates the status to "Completed" and permanently logs the finalizing Repair Inspection User's details and the exact date under the "Other Info" tab. This automated audit trail provides absolute transparency and accountability, ensuring that Repair Inspection Managers and stakeholders have a clear historical record of who authorized the final diagnostic conclusions before subsequent repair activities or customer billing commence.
Generating the Machine Repair Inspection Report
-
To provide formal documentation of the completed evaluation, Repair Inspection Users can generate a comprehensive PDF report directly from the inspection record by clicking the "Machine Repair Inspection Report" print option. This action complies all data entered across the various tabsâincluding the general request details, individual inspection lines, detailed result descriptions, audit trail information, and attached diagnostic photosâinto a single, professionally formatted document. This printable report serves as an official record of the machine's condition, suitable for internal filing, quality assurance audits, or direct sharing with clients.
Project Integration: Accessing Inspections via Smart Button
-
The Machine Repair Inspection module seamlessly integrates with Odoo's Project application. Within any specific project form, such as the "CNC Machine Routine Inspections" project, Repair Inspection Users can utilize the dedicated "Inspections" smart button located at the top of the interface. This provides instant, one-click access to all diagnostic evaluations associated with that particular project, streamlining navigation for Repair Inspection Managers overseeing maintenance workflows.
Filtered View of Project-Specific Machine Repair Inspections
-
Clicking the "Inspections" smart button from the project form directs the Repair Inspection User to a dynamically filtered list view. This view exclusively displays the Machine Repair Inspections linked to the originating project, allowing Repair Inspection Managers to quickly assess the status, responsible personnel, and inspection results of all related diagnostic tasks without having to manually search through the entire database of company-wide inspection records.
Machine Repair Request with Inspections Smart Button
-
To ensure complete visibility of quality assurance checks throughout the repair process, the Machine Repair Request form features a dedicated "Inspections" smart button. This intuitive link allows Repair Inspection Users and Repair Inspection Managers, such as John Anderson, to instantly access all diagnostic evaluationsâincluding pre-repair checks or post-repair auditsâdirectly associated with the specific machine repair ticket (e.g., RO-00052) without leaving the main repair workflow.
Filtered View of Repair-Specific Machine Inspections
-
Clicking the "Inspections" smart button from a specific Machine Repair Request seamlessly navigates the Repair Inspection User to a filtered list view. This view isolates and displays only the inspection records tied to that exact repair ticket, providing immediate access to relevant diagnostic data, inspection states, and responsible personnel, thereby streamlining the review process before finalizing any equipment maintenance activities.
Configuration of Machine Repair Inspection Values
-
System administrators or Repair Inspection Managers can configure standardized Inspection Values under the Configuration menu. This allows the team to define specific diagnostic checks, such as "Check Cabling" or "Vibration Analysis," ensuring consistent data entry across all machine repair requests. These predefined values form the basis of the individual inspection lines used by Repair Inspection Users.
Configuration of Machine Repair Inspection Results
-
The Configuration menu also provides a dedicated interface to define standardized Inspection Results. Repair Inspection Managers can set up universal outcome statuses like "Completed," "Unserviceable," or "Scrap Recommended". These predefined results allow Repair Inspection Users to quickly and objectively categorize the outcome of each inspection line item during the repair evaluation.
Configuration of Machine Repair Inspection Types
-
To categorize different diagnostic workflows, Repair Inspection Managers can set up specific Inspection Types within the Configuration menu. This feature enables the creation of distinct inspection categories, such as "Visual Inspection," "Functional Inspection," or "Pre-Repair Inspection," allowing for highly organized and easily filterable diagnostic tracking.
Access Rights Configuration for Repair Inspections
-
Within the standard Odoo user settings, administrators can securely manage access rights for the inspection module. The system includes dedicated user roles under the "REPAIR INSPECTION" section, specifically distinguishing between a "Repair Inspection Manager" and a "Repair Inspection User". This ensures that only authorized personnel can configure inspection parameters or confirm and process diagnostic requests.
