Leave requests arrive by email or Odoo notification — both easy to miss. Managers intend to review them but the request is buried in their inbox within hours. The employee waits days for an approval that should take minutes.

Key Features
Automatic Activity on Submission
The moment an employee submits a leave request, an approval activity is created for the responsible manager — no manual step, no missed request.
Immediate Inbox Visibility
The activity appears in the manager's Odoo activity inbox right away, making it impossible to overlook in the day's task list.
No Email Dependency
Works entirely through Odoo's native activity system. No SMTP configuration or email server is required.
One-Step and Two-Step Approval
Compatible with both one-step (direct manager approves) and two-step (manager + HR officer) leave approval configurations.
Configuration
- Install the module from the Apps menu.
- The Activity Rule "Leave Submitted — Schedule Approval Activity" is pre-configured and active immediately after installation.
- Optionally customize the activity type or default deadline via Settings > Technical > Activity Rules.
- No further configuration required. Activities are created automatically for every new leave submission.
Scope & Limitations
- Does NOT approve the leave automatically — the manager still reviews and approves through the normal Time Off flow.
- Does NOT replace the standard Odoo leave approval workflow in any way.
- The activity is informational and action-oriented — it is a reminder, not an automated decision.
- Works on Community Edition — no Enterprise dependency.
First Version
This is the first release of Leave Approval Activity. It covers the core activity scheduling use case on leave submission. We welcome feedback — if you need deadline escalation, secondary approver activities, or team-based routing, please reach out via the Odoo support system.
