Studio to Code Exporter
Turn your Odoo Studio customizations into a real, clean, versionable module â without losing any data.
Why
Studio stores everything in the database: cryptic x_studio_* field names, unreadable inherited views, no Python classes, nothing in Git. The native Studio export is just an XML record dump. This tool generates a genuine module instead.
What you get
- Python classes with business field names derived from your labels (editable mapping file included)
- Clean view XML:
attrsconverted, fragile positional xpaths resolved, multiple inherits merged ir.model.access.csv, record rules, window/server actions, automated actions, menus and favorite filters- Computed fields converted to real methods with
@api.dependsdeduced by AST analysis - An idempotent migration hook that copies your data to the renamed columns and transfers the XML ID ownership away from
studio_customization - A full conversion report (Markdown + JSON): everything that was converted, everything that was not, and why
- Dry-run mode, target version selectable from Odoo 16 to 19
How
Settings â Technical â Studio â Code Export. Run a dry run, review the report, adjust the name mapping, export, install the generated module following its MIGRATION.md. The tool itself is strictly read-only on your database.
