First Response

Know how fast every task gets its first reply.

Response time in minutes · Slow-reply highlight · Filter & group · Reporting analysis

Odoo 19 $24.99 · OPL-1 9 Languages For Project Managers

How long did that task wait for a reply? Nobody knows.

Odoo Project has no built-in measure of how quickly a task gets its first reply. The answer is sitting in each task's message thread, but reading it means opening every task one by one and eyeballing the gap between when it was created and when someone first answered. First Response turns that gap into a number you can sort, filter, group, and report on.

Without this module

Open a task. Scroll its message thread. Work out by eye how long it sat before anyone answered. Repeat for every task in the sprint. Give up before you finish.

With this module

Every task carries its first-response time in minutes. Slow ones are highlighted in the list. A reporting view breaks the average down by project, by assignee, and by month.

What it does

First-reply timestamp

Records the exact moment the first reply from someone other than the person who created the task arrives. Recorded once, and never moved by later edits or deletions.

Response time in minutes

Each task shows how many minutes passed between when it was created and that first reply — a plain number, ready to filter and group by.

Slow-reply highlight

Tasks that took too long to get a first response are highlighted in the list, so a slow queue is obvious at a glance instead of buried in the thread.

Reporting analysis

A "First Response Analysis" view under Project → Reporting slices the average reply time by project, by assignee, and by month, as a pivot or a graph.

One-click filters

"Awaiting First Response", "Slow First Response" and "Replied To" toggles sit in the task search bar, so you can pull up just the queue you care about.

Set your own threshold

Decide how many minutes counts as "slow" in Settings. The highlight and the filters both follow whatever response window your team agreed on.

How it works

1

Someone creates a task. The clock starts the moment the task is created — no setup, no button to press.

2

The first reply from anyone other than the task's creator lands in the message thread. That moment is captured and the response time in minutes is saved on the task.

3

If that time is over your "slow" threshold, the task is highlighted in the list. The reporting view rolls the averages up by project, assignee and month.

See it in action

From a task list you can't measure to a reply time you can report on.

First-response time column in the task list

The task list gains a first-response time column, with slow tasks highlighted.

First-response search filters in the task search bar

Filter the sprint by "Awaiting First Response", "Slow First Response" or "Replied To" straight from the search bar.

First Response Analysis report — average reply time by assignee

The "First Response Analysis" report turns a vague sense of "slow" into a number — average reply time by assignee (and by project or month).

Available in 9 Languages

Every field label, button and message ships fully translated. Each user sees the module in their own Odoo language setting — no extra setup.

Honest scope

✗ Counts the first reply from someone else

The timer stops on the first message from anyone other than the task's creator. Internal log notes and the creator's own comments do not count.

Wall-clock minutes, not working hours

Response time is measured from task creation in real elapsed time; it does not subtract nights, weekends, or your working calendar.
