One-click translation of Odoo views with language selection and optional overwrite of existing terms.

System Requirement

This module depends on the googletrans library to enable automatic translations.

Please ensure the required version is installed on your server by running:

pip install googletrans-py==4.0.0

Steps to Configure & Use

1. Enable Developer Mode

To access the translation features, Developer Mode must be enabled.

Navigate to Settings > General Settings, and activate Developer Mode — OR Press Ctrl + K, search for "Debug", and enable Developer Mode.

2. Activate Your Language

Go to Settings > Translations > Languages

Activate the language(s) you want to use for translation

3. Open the View to Translate

Open any Odoo view you want to translate, such as a Form View.

  • Navigate to the desired screen in Odoo
  • Use the view header to access translation options
  • You can also open the Views from Settings if you have access to the views.

4. Click the Language Button (EN)

In the view header, locate the language indicator button (for example, EN).

Click the EN button to open the translation panel.

This button provides quick access to view translation options.

Tip: The label reflects the current language of the view.

5. Translate the View

Use the translation panel to start the translation process.

  • Select the target language from the list
  • Enable "Overwrite Existing Terms" if you want to replace current translations
  • Click Translate to apply the translations instantly

6. Save and Review Translations

Review the translated content and make any necessary adjustments.

7. Specific Term Translation

Quickly translate or correct individual terms directly from the view.

Click on a specific label or term to translate it instantly.

8. Specific Language Terms

Translate terms for a selected language only.

  • Choose a specific language from the available options
  • Translate or update terms exclusively for that language

9. HTML Field Translation

Translates HTML field content without affecting HTML tags or formatting.

This ensures that the HTML structure and formatting are preserved throughout the translation process.

As a result, multilingual content can be applied seamlessly without impacting existing HTML design or functionality.
