Security for Contacts
Partner Access Control Advance
Control who can see which contacts in Odoo by assigning access tags to users and partners. Keep open contacts visible to internal users, restrict sensitive contacts by tag, and grant full access with one checkbox when needed.
Why Use This Module
|
Simple Tag-Based Access
If a user and a partner share at least one access tag, the user can see that partner.
|
Open Contacts Stay Open
Partners without access tags remain visible to internal users, which keeps daily work simple.
|
Full Access Option
Enable Access to All Partners to let selected users bypass tag restrictions.
|
How Access Works
| Scenario | Result |
|---|---|
| Partner has no access tags | Visible to internal users |
| User and partner share at least one tag | Partner is visible |
| User and partner share no tags | Partner is hidden |
| Partner has multiple tags | One matching tag is enough to grant access |
| User has Access to All Partners enabled | All partners are visible |
Setup in 3 Steps
Step 1
Create access tags
Go to Contacts > Configuration > Tags and create the tags you want to use for partner visibility.
Step 2
Assign tags to partners
Add one or more access tags on each partner that needs restricted visibility. Partners without tags remain open to internal users.
Step 3
Assign tags to users
Add partner access tags on the user form. The user will be able to see partners that share at least one of those tags.
If the user should see everything, enable Access to All Partners.
Good Fit For
| Sales teams that should only see their own customer segments |
| Shared databases with confidential partners, suppliers, or VIP contacts |
| Organizations that need lightweight contact security without complex customization |
| Implementations that combine partner visibility rules with other internal access policies |
