Skills & Competency Matrix Gap Analysis builds a reusable competency library, attaches required proficiency levels to job positions, and compares them live against each employee's assessed level. The gap, a criticality-weighted score, a red/yellow/green heat-map status and a training suggestion are all computed on the fly, so a requirement change is reflected everywhere instantly with no stale cache.

Reusable competency library
Define competencies with a name, category (technical, soft skill, leadership, compliance, language, other) and a customisable 1-5 proficiency scale with editable level labels.
Job-position competency requirements
Define, per job position, which competencies are required and at what minimum level, and flag the ones that are truly critical.
Employee competency records
Track each employee's current assessed level, assessment date and assessor, with full change history on chatter.
Live gap analysis engine
Required level minus current level, a criticality-weighted gap score and a red/yellow/green heat-map status are computed on the fly by a pure-python engine, never stored stale.
Heat-map matrix views
Colour-coded list and pivot views of employee x competency so managers instantly see where the organisation's skill coverage is exposed.
Automatic training suggestions
A recommendation message and priority (low/medium/high) are generated automatically whenever a gap exceeds the configured threshold, prioritised by the competency's criticality.
Bulk assessment wizard
Rate every competency of one employee in a single sitting; confirming the wizard creates an auditable assessment snapshot and updates the employee's current levels in one transaction.
Role-based security
HR managers get full configuration and reporting access, while every employee can see their own competency levels read-only.
