Trinidad & Tobago — Final Settlement
Offboarding done right: leave payout, loan recovery, final payslip
When an employee leaves, everything owed and owing lands in one place: accrued vacation is snapshotted at the departure date and paid out with full statutory treatment, outstanding loans are recovered from the final pay under the net-floor cap, one-off adjustments are added as typed inputs, and the final payslip runs through the same PAYE / NIS / Health Surcharge engines as every other slip — nothing bespoke, nothing missed.
Requirements — part of the T&T suite
This module requires the Trinidad & Tobago — Payroll
module (vedtech_tt_payroll) and the Employee Loans & Salary
Advances module (vedtech_tt_loans), which are installed automatically
as dependencies together with the T&T Accounting localization
(vedtech_tt_accounting). Settlement figures flow straight into confirmed
payslips, journals, monthly returns and the year-end TD4.
Pricing note: Odoo Apps may display the combined purchase price for this module and its required suite dependencies. This module is priced at $149; Payroll is $999, Loans is $99 and Accounting is $149.
A settlement you can defend
Frozen Snapshots
- Leave balances captured at the departure date — before the departure process truncates allocations
- Every payout line freezes its provenance: rate basis, source wage, contract version, snapshot date
- Approval locks the snapshot — the approved balance is exactly the paid balance
- Reopening is manager-only and logged to the chatter
Loan Recovery
- Every open loan listed with its outstanding balance
- Per-loan choice: recover from final pay, keep the schedule, or handle manually
- Recovery runs through the loan module's own API and the standard net-floor cap — net pay never goes negative
- Shortfalls stay pending for early payoff or write-off
Statutory by Design
- Payouts inject as typed inputs — PAYE, NIS and Health Surcharge computed by the standard payroll engines
- Flows to TD4 box 3 automatically at year-end
- Severance, gratuity and specially-taxed terminal benefits are deliberately not guessed: a legal-review flag parks the settlement until treatment is confirmed
One Workflow
- Draft → Compute → Approve → Generate Final Payslip
- Manager-gated approvals; audit trail on every step
- Confirming the slip completes the settlement; cancelling it reopens the settlement for a regenerate
Departure Integration
- One checkbox on the standard departure wizard creates and computes the settlement automatically
- Contract end date set from the departure — the final month prorates correctly
- Final payslips carry a clear FINAL marker on screen and on the PDF
Reports
- Final Settlement PDF: leave payout, loan recovery and adjustments with totals and signature blocks
- Configurable daily-rate basis for leave payouts (fixed 21.67, calendar days, or weekdays)
See It In Action
The settlement: leave payout, loans and adjustments in one view
The final payslip — payout taxed, loan recovered, clearly marked
