Integrate Google Tag Manager script to your Odoo website
Google Tag Manager (GTM) is a service by Google that allows centralized management of tracking tags and scripts on a website without requiring constant changes to the source code. With GTM, analytical and marketing tools such as Google Analytics 4, Google Ads, and other tracking services can be connected.
Odoo Google Tag Manager is an app that adds the GTM tracking script (JavaScript code) to all web pages of your Odoo website.
The solution serves as the foundation for the Odoo GTM Conversion Tracking module, which implements website tracking for your Odoo e-Commerce events and provides the enhanced user data to Google.

Obtaining the Identifier
Before adding the JS script to your website, first obtain the identifier. To do this, log in to your Google Tag Manager account and copy the Container ID:
Configuration
After installing the module, activate tracking by following these steps:

01Go to website settings

02Enable the Google Tag Manager option in the Tracking and SEO section

03Paste the copied Container ID from Google Tag Manager

04Save the settings
The GTM script is now automatically added to all pages of your Odoo website:
Testing
To test the GTM tracking script, use Google Tag Assistant. Click Preview:
Then enter your website URL and click Connect:
Open any page of the Odoo website and review the report in Google Tag Assistant:
Cookie Consent
The solution is compatible with the Odoo Google Consent Mode module, which allows managing cookie consent and updating consent states by sending them to Google.
