Reclaim disk space by removing old, unused attachments - safely and on your terms.

How It Works
- Create a rule - select one or more target models (e.g. Sale Order, Purchase Order), or leave the model field empty to cover the entire system. Set a minimum age, and optionally filter by MIME type prefix (e.g.
image/) or minimum file size. - Click "Dry Run" - preview exactly which files would be deleted. Uncheck any you want to keep, or add them to the permanent whitelist in one click. Checking "Add to Whitelist" automatically locks the "Delete" checkbox to prevent accidental removal.
- Confirm - only the files you approved are deleted. A run log entry is created with the full list of removed files for future reference, and a PDF report can be printed directly from the log.
- Let the cron handle it - each rule defines its own schedule (e.g. every 30 days). The global scheduled action runs daily and fires each rule when its interval is due. The cron can be toggled on or off under Settings → Attachment Cleaner without needing technical access.

Each rule lets you target one or more models, set a minimum file age and size, and define how often the automated cleanup should run.
The dry-run wizard shows every candidate file before anything is deleted — uncheck rows to keep them or add them to the whitelist in one click.
Run History & Audit Trail
Every cleanup run is recorded — rule name, date, mode (manual or cron), files deleted, and total space freed.
Open any run to see the full list of deleted files — name, model, record ID, size, and MIME type — captured at the moment of deletion.
Printable PDF Report
Print a PDF summary of any cleanup run directly from the run history — useful for audits or internal records.
Whitelist
Any attachment added to the whitelist is permanently excluded from all future cleanup runs — regardless of age, size, or MIME type. It will never be deleted by any rule.
Each entry shows the attachment name, the linked record, an optional note, and the run that triggered the whitelist addition.
Settings
The scheduled cleanup can be enabled or disabled directly from Settings → Attachment Cleaner — no need to touch the cron job manually.
The option appears under the dedicated Attachment Cleaner tab, alongside other module settings.
Why Attachments Accumulate
Attachments in Odoo grow fast: invoice PDFs, delivery slips, email attachments, exported reports, and uploaded images. Most are only useful while the related record is active - after that they silently consume disk space and slow down backups.
Attachment Cleaner lets you define precise criteria so you only remove what is truly safe to delete, and nothing else. Deleting an ir.attachment record via Odoo's unlink() also removes the underlying file from the filestore - no orphan files are left behind.
