Xpedyt Margin Alert
Set minimum margin thresholds per product, category, or company and block low-margin confirmations before they reach the warehouse.
Overview
Xpedyt Margin Alert helps sales teams catch low-margin sale order lines directly inside Odoo. Configure minimum margin thresholds once, then let salespeople and managers see margin risks before confirmation.
The module supports flexible alert policies, from gentle visual warnings to strict confirmation blocking, with a dedicated permission that controls who can bypass the restriction.
Features
- Per-product, per-category, and global minimum-margin thresholds with priority chain: product → category → global
- Real-time color-coded warnings in the order line list: orange for below minimum margin, red for below cost
- Optional blocking of sale order confirmation for users without the bypass permission
- Dedicated Can Confirm Below-Margin Orders permission — automatically granted to Sales Managers and Administrators, togglable per user in Access Rights
- Chatter note posted on the order when a below-threshold line is confirmed
- Email notification to configurable recipients — select one or more users directly in Settings
Configuration
Configure margin alert rules in Sales → Configuration → Settings under the Margin Alert section.
- Minimum Margin — global fallback threshold applied when no product or category threshold is set
- UI Warnings — highlight order lines in orange or red when margin falls below the threshold
- Block Confirmation — prevent order confirmation for users without the Can Confirm Below-Margin Orders permission
- Email Alert — send a notification email; choose one or more recipient users in the field that appears below the toggle
- Chatter Log — post a note with per-line margin details in the order chatter on confirmation
Per-product and per-category thresholds are set directly on the product form or product category form under the Sales tab. A threshold of 0% means no threshold is set at that level and the next level in the priority chain is used.
Access Rights
The module adds a single permission: Can Confirm Below-Margin Orders. It appears as a checkbox in the user's Access Rights tab alongside other sales permissions such as Discount on lines.
- Sales Managers and Administrators receive this permission automatically.
- It can be granted or revoked per user independently of their sales role.
