Integrate n8n with Odoo to build, manage, trigger, and automate workflows using webhooks, AI, event-based automation, and visual workflow management.
Configuration of n8n with Odoo
Follow the steps below to securely connect your n8n instance with Odoo using the n8n Connector.
Configure n8n in Odoo
Go to Odoo --> N8N Workflows --> N8N Configurations and click New to create a configuration. Generate an API Key from your n8n account, paste it into the API Key field, enter the Server URL, complete the required details, and click Save.
Verify API Connection
Click Test API Connection to verify communication between Odoo and n8n. When the Connection Successful notification appears, the integration is complete and your Odoo instance is ready to communicate with n8n.
Configure N8N User Access
Assign the appropriate N8N access level to each user based on their role. User can access only the AI Chat widget, Manager can manage and use workflows but cannot access the Configuration menu, while Administrator has full access to all N8N features, including workflow management and configuration settings.
How to Import n8n Workflows into Odoo
Import your existing n8n workflows into Odoo in just a few steps. Configure the connection, verify the integration, import your workflows, and confirm that they are ready to use directly from Odoo.
Create a Workflow in n8n
Create and save your workflow in the official n8n editor. This workflow will later be imported into Odoo.
Import the Workflow
Open Import Workflow from n8n, select the configured n8n Configuration, enter a specific Workflow ID (or leave it blank to import all workflows), and click Import.
Verify the Imported Workflow
The imported workflow now appears in the N8N Workflows list, confirming that it has been successfully imported from n8n into Odoo.
Enter n8n Login Credentials
Enter your n8n Login Email and Password, save the configuration, and verify that the Login Successful message appears
Review the Imported Workflow
Open the imported workflow to verify that all workflow nodes and connections have been imported successfully. The workflow is now ready to execute and manage from Odoo.
Build an AI Chatbot with n8n Workflow Templates in Odoo
Quickly deploy an AI-powered chatbot in Odoo using pre-built n8n workflow templates. Sync the template with n8n, fetch the latest workflow data, configure AI Chat settings, and start chatting with your Odoo database.
Choose a Workflow Template
Select a pre-built AI Chat workflow template from the Workflow Templates library. Templates help you get started quickly without creating workflows from scratch.
Sync the Template to n8n
Open the selected template and click Sync to N8N. Once the Sync Successful message appears, the workflow has been created and synchronized with your n8n instance.
Fetch Workflow Data
Click Fetch from N8N to retrieve the latest workflow details. After a successful fetch, all workflow nodes and their categories are automatically displayed in Odoo.
Enable AI Chat
Turn on Use for AI Chat and click Activate to enable the workflow in n8n. The chatbot can only function when the workflow is active.
Enable Public Chat
Open the When Chat Message Received node and set Make Chat Publicly Available to True. This publishes the chat endpoint so users can access the chatbot.
Chatbot Ready to Use
Once the workflow is active and all settings are configured, the AI Chatbot is ready. Users can start chatting with the assistant to search records, create or update data, and perform Odoo operations using natural language.
Connect Odoo with n8n Instance-level MCP
Connect your Odoo instance with n8n Instance-level MCP to enable secure communication between Odoo and n8n. Configure the MCP connection, register it in Odoo, and use it across AI Agents and MCP-enabled features.
Open Instance-level MCP
Log in to the official n8n dashboard and navigate to Settings â Instance-level MCP to begin the MCP configuration.
Enable MCP & Copy Access Token
Enable Instance-level MCP, then copy the generated Access Token. This token will be used to connect n8n with Odoo.
Configure MCP in Odoo
Paste the copied MCP Access Token into the MCP Access Token field in the Odoo N8N Configuration, then save the configuration.
Assign MCP Configuration to the AI Agent
Open the Ask AI Agent and select the configured N8N MCP Configuration from the N8N MCP Config field to enable communication with your n8n instance.
Query n8n Using AI
Ask the AI Agent questions about your n8n workflows. The AI retrieves live information directly from your connected n8n instance through MCP.
Verify Available Workflows
The AI successfully returns the workflows available in your n8n instance. In this example, 3 workflows are detected and displayed, confirming that the MCP connection is working correctly.
