A complete dark recompilation of the Odoo backend — not just the navbar. A Light / Dark / System switch, remembered per user, with tuned contrast for dropdowns, popovers, cards, alerts, forms, the search and the chatter. A dedicated dark palette is yours to fine-tune.
A sidebar in two styles
Replace the horizontal menu with a vertical sidebar, switchable per user: Classic, a slim rail that expands on hover with sub-menu flyouts, or Drawer, a docked launcher you drill into. An Apps / Saved / Recent switcher keeps it tidy; pin it open when you want.
Reach anything in two keys
Press Ctrl K from anywhere to search every menu, screen and action — and jump there instantly. Type “new…” to create a record on the spot. The fast path that removes the friction of deep menus.
Make it yours, live
A Settings page with a live preview: tweak light & dark colours side by side, apply one-click palettes, and toggle the backend look — all reflected instantly before you save. A friendly colour picker replaces the OS dialog everywhere.

Record peek & new tab
Alt‑click a list row to preview a record in a side drawer; Ctrl‑click opens it in a new tab.
List power tools
Collapse or expand every group of a grouped list in a single click.
Record favorites
Star any record from the systray and jump back to it in one click, across every model.

Fold the chatter from a handle on its divider so the form takes the full width.

Home Screen Theme Pro
Premium add-on for Home Screen Theme. Brings the backend dark mode that is otherwise exclusive to Odoo Enterprise to the Community Edition, plus a vertical sidebar, a global command palette, record peek, favorites, theme presets, a branded login and a per-user Theme-settings wizard.
Installation
- Install the free Home Screen Theme base module first (it is pulled in as a dependency automatically).
- Copy the home_theme_pro folder into your custom addons path.
- Restart the Odoo server and click Update Apps List.
- Search for Home Screen Theme Pro and click Install.
Configuration
Global theming - Settings -> Home Screen Theme (administrator):
- Theme Studio - a live preview with one-click colour palettes (Hacienda, Ocean, Forest, Sunset, Plum, Graphite).
- Backend colours - independent light and dark palettes, side by side.
- Backend appearance - rounded corners, soft shadows, the chatter quick-toggle and the sidebar style.
- Login page - opt-in background image and logo for /web/login.
Per-user settings - the Theme settings wizard (the paint-brush button in the "..." menu or the sidebar footer): navigation style, colour scheme (Light / Dark / System) and the interface font. Each choice is saved for that user only.
Usage
- Dark mode - switch Light / Dark / System from the user menu or the "..." bar; remembered per user.
- Vertical sidebar - Classic (a slim rail that expands on hover) or Drawer (an app launcher), per user.
- Command palette - press Ctrl / Cmd + K anywhere to search every menu, screen and action; type "new ..." to create a record.
- Record peek - Alt + click a list row to preview the record in a side drawer; Ctrl / Cmd + click opens it in a new browser tab.
- Favorites, folders, record favorites, list power tools, collapsible chatter and more - see the in-app What's New panel and the shortcuts cheatsheet (press ?).
