Sometimes Odoo does not manage to address incoming messages. For example, it happens when your customer doesn't reply to a message, but sends a direct email to your catchall address. In that case such email is completely lost, while clients become more and more irritated. This tool solves the issue. With this app you gets full control over all lost messages and you can attach any Odoo message to a proper document thread.

No messages are lost

All messages which Odoo has not managed to route are kept under the special menu unit. In the debug mode go Odoo technical settings > Email > Lost Messages.
You may also configure Odoo to send a notification by each lost message to manage them in real time. Go to the Odoo general settings > Email Section and check the box 'Lost messages notification'. Then choose users which should be notified.
The features are available for users with rights for administration settings (Administration/Settings). Take into account that this module make all unattached messages available for the group Administration/Settings (like this user is a SuperUser).

Simple addressing of lost messages

  • Open any lost message and decide where such a message should be forwarded. To this end press the button 'Route manual'.
  • In the pop-up wizard select a required document type (e.g. a contact or an opportunity), and a target document (e.g. 'Agrolait' or 'Prospect for 1000 Pcs'). Here Odoo restricts users' selection to viable ones which have a real message thread.
  • As soon as you press the button 'Attach Message', Odoo would route a message to the chosen document.

Use the feature not only for lost but for any messages. In the debug mode go Odoo technical settings > Email > Messages. Via the same button 'Route manual' users might re-attach messages to another object.

  1. Restart your Odoo server and update the module

  2. Clean your browser cache (Ctrl + Shift + R) or open Odoo in a private window.

According to the current Odoo Apps Store policies:

  • every module bought for the version 12.0 and prior gives you an access to the all versions up to 12.0.

  • starting from the version 13.0, every version of the module should be purchased separately.

  • disregarding the version, purchasing a tool grants you a right for all updates and bug fixes within a major version.

  1. Unzip source code of purchased tools in one of your Odoo add-ons directory

  2. Re-start the Odoo server

  3. Turn on the developer mode (technical settings)

  4. Update the apps' list (the apps' menu)

  5. Find the app and push the button 'Install'

  6. Follow the guidelines on the app's page if those exist.

Yes, all modules marked in dependencies are absolutely required for a correct work of our tool. Take into account that price marked on the app page already includes all necessary dependencies.  

Red / orange warning itself does not influence features of the app. Regretfully, sometimes our modules do not pass standard automatic tests, since the latter assumes behavior which is in conflict with our apps goals. For example, we change price calculation, while standard Odoo module tests compare final price to standard algorithm.

Hello Daly. If emails sent to @mydomain.com are parsed to Odoo according to your database email configuration, then, our tool would also check those emails for being ‘lost’. ‘Lost’ messages are ones which Odoo can’t attach to any document. You can configure the tool to notify you about all lost messages. The app does not regulate email servers or aliases setup. Hi so if my client sends a new email to my email address this solution will get the email from my server and match it with the client record example his contact then I can choose to attach it to the record example task or lead...? Also What is a catch-all email do I need to do it?

Hello Daly, our tool does not regulate settings of Odoo email servers or aliases. Our tool is to address emails coming to Odoo, mainly, to manage messages which can not be routed. So, if you configured your email address to be parsed to Odoo, then messages from those emails might be (re)routed in Odoo to chosen documents.
