Overview

POS Auto Lot Selection With Barcode

    POS Auto Lot Selection With Barcode for Odoo enables automatic creation of a unique barcode–lot number combination, making it easy to print product labels based on specific lots numbers. These barcodes can be scanned directly in the POS to add the correct product along with its corresponding lot or serial number.

    The module provides a lot/serial number selection popup that displays only valid lots, ensuring accurate selection during POS transactions. Built-in validations prevent users from selecting or adding invalid or incorrect lot/serial numbers, reducing errors at the counter.

Configuration

Enable Barcode Scanner in Inventory

  • Go to Inventory → Configuration → Settings.
  • In the Barcode section, enable the Barcode Scanner option and click Save.

    • Configure Product Lot Separator

  • Go to General setting and Active the developer mode
  • In the same Barcode settings section, locate the field Product Lot Separator.
  • Enter the separator character that is used in your combined barcode format (for example: /, -, or :).
  • This separator is used to split the barcode into Product Barcode and Lot Number while scanning.

    • Create Lots / Serial Numbers and Assign Stock

  • Create lot numbers for the product and make sure stock is available in the correct location.

    • Print Lot Barcodes

  • Once a lot is assigned to the product, the system automatically generates a combined barcode in the format Product Barcode + Separator + Lot Number and allows you to print product labels with this combined barcode using the Print action.

    • Product Barcode LOT (PDF) Report

    Start POS Session and Scan Barcode

  • Open a POS session and scan the combined barcode.
  • The system automatically separates the product and lot using the configured separator and adds the product with the correct lot.

    • Verify Lot Selection and Complete Order

  • Complete the order and verify the selected lot number on the POS receipt.

  • The user can also view the selected lot number on the POS order.

  • On clicking product users can see all lot numbers of products from all locations with lot numbers.
  • If a user tries to create a Lot/Serial number manually from the point of sale, the system will show an error “Some of the entered Lot/Serial numbers are invalid.”
  • If a user tries to create a Sale Order without selecting the Lot/Serial number, the system will show an error “Please enter at least one Lot/Serial number is required.”
