End-of-Service Award (Gratuity) – General Rules

    Key Features
  • Manage End of Service requests and rewards as per Saudi Labor Law with multi-step approval workflow, HR & Accounting integration, and automated employee archiving.

  • 1.Eligibility:
    ✅ Employee must complete at least 2 years of service to qualify (except in special cases).
    ✅ Applies whether contract is indefinite or fixed-term.

  • 2. Computation Formula (Article 84)
    ✅ First 5 years: Half a month’s wage for each year.
    ✅ After 5 years: One full month’s wage for each additional year.
    ✅ Partial years: Count proportionally (months/days).
    ✅ Wage used: The last wage (basic + fixed allowances if included in contract definition of wage).

  • ✅ General Formula:
    ✅ EOS=(12×monthly wage×years (up to 5))+(1×monthly wage×years (after 5))EOS = \left(\frac{1}{2} \times \text{monthly wage} \times \text{years (up to 5)}\right) + \left(1 \times \text{monthly wage} \times \text{years (after 5)}\right)EOS=(21×monthly wage×years (up to 5))+(1×monthly wage×years (after 5))

  • 3. Termination vs. Resignation (Article 85)
    ✅ Termination (by employer / contract expiry): Employee gets full EOS award.

  • Resignation (by employee): Reduced entitlement, depending on years worked:
    ✅ ✅ 2–5 years → 1/3 of full EOS
    ✅ 5–10 years → 2/3 of full EOS
    ✅ 10+ years → Full EOS
