Show/ Hide Chatter

The Show/Hide the Chatter feature enhances user focus by allowing users to toggle the visibility of the chatter section in form views

Resize the Chat

The Resize the Chat feature allows users to adjust the width of the chatter panel by dragging the divider and reset it to the default size with a double-click, offering flexible control over the form layout for better readability and workspace management.

Automatically Remember

The Automatically Remember Full Screen feature ensures that once a user enables full-screen mode on any form, the system retains this preference across all form views. This enhances user experience by maintaining a consistent, distraction-free layout without requiring repeated manual adjustments.

1. Show/ Hide Chatter

Open any form view in your Odoo system (such as Sales Order, Invoice, Project Task, etc.). Look at the top-right corner of the form. You will see a small toggle button “ Hide Chatter” . Click the button to hide the chatter panel (the section that contains messages, notes, and activities). Once hidden, the main form area will automatically expand to full width, giving you a cleaner and more spacious workspace.

To show the chatter panel again, click the same button “ Show Chatter” . The chatter will slide back into place on the right side. This feature helps you stay focused on form details by removing visual clutter when the chatter is not needed.

2. Resize the Chatter Panel

With the chatter panel visible, hover your mouse over the divider between the form and the chatter section (the vertical line that separates the two).

The cursor will change to a horizontal resize arrow (↔), indicating that you can adjust the width.

Click and drag the divider left or right to manually resize the chatter panel to your preferred width.

If you want to reset it to the default size, simply double-click on the divider.

It gives you control over how much space the chatter panel occupies, improving readability and layout flexibility based on your workflow.

3. Automatically Remmember

The Automatically Remember feature allows the system to persist user interface preferences — such as showing or hiding the chatter panel or enabling full-screen mode — across all form views.

Once a user selects a layout mode (e.g., hides the chatter), this preference is automatically saved in the browser. Even when the user navigates to a different record, model, or menu item, the chosen layout will remain active without needing to reconfigure it each time.

For example, if a user hides the chatter while viewing a Sales Order and then switches to a Purchase Order or Employee form, the chatter will stay hidden. Similarly, if full-screen mode is enabled once, it will remain enabled across all forms until the user manually disables it.

This feature creates a consistent, personalized experience that improves usability and reduces repetitive actions during daily workflows.
