Configure user access rights on the User form view. Managers can assign 'User' or 'Administrator' roles under the 'EB SECURITY MASTER' section to control who is permitted to perform session switches.
Once security permissions are assigned, authorized users will see a dedicated incognito/impersonate icon in the top-right systray of the Odoo navigation bar.
Clicking the systray icon opens a smart search dialog. Here, you can search for accounts by name, email, or login, review recent switches, or select from internal and portal user lists.
Filter users easily by selecting the 'Portal' tab in the switcher dialog to locate customers or portal contacts. Click 'Login As' to start the support session.
When active, a sticky yellow banner is displayed at the top of portal pages indicating who you are impersonating. A 'Return to My Account' button allows switching back to the admin session in one click.
In addition to the navbar shortcut, administrators can impersonate internal users or portal contacts directly from their Odoo backend User form view using the 'Login As' button in the header.
