Kaizen Job Instructions & Quality Checklists on Job Orders by Kaizen Principles helps operations, construction, and project teams standardize how work is executed while keeping day-to-day job management simple. Supervisors can create reusable Instruction Types with photos and link them to specific Job Orders (project tasks) as Job Instructions, each with a responsible user, supervisor, date, and quality checklist. From the job screen, teams can see all related instructions, track their status (Draft, Started, Paused, Finished, Cancelled), and print a detailed Job Instruction PDF that includes descriptions, checklists, and reference images. This keeps execution on-site aligned with approved procedures, reduces errors and rework, and strengthens quality and safety control all without introducing new complex workflows, just richer structure on top of existing job costing and project management in Odoo.

Configure Instruction Templates
From the Jobs â Configuration â Instructions menu, create and maintain reusable instruction templates with a name and code. These templates will later be attached to job orders as Job Instructions, keeping your site teams aligned on standard, repeatable procedures.
Create Visual Instruction Template
Define each Instruction Type with a clear Name and Code, then add up to five Instruction Photos that show how the work should be done or what the final result should look like. These visual templates will be reused across multiple jobs so every technician follows the same standard procedure.
Add New Instruction Template
From the Job Instructions list, click New to create a fresh instruction template with its own name, code, and photos. Build a library of standard instructions that can be quickly reused across multiple jobs and projects.
Define Quality Checklist Items
From Quality Checklists, click New to create standard quality points with a name and code. These checklist items will later be linked to job instructions to ensure every job is inspected the same way.
Create Standard Quality Point
Set up each Quality Checklist item with a clear Name and Code, such as âPower Connections â PC.â These reusable quality points will be attached to job instructions so every job is checked against the same standards.
Link Instructions to Job Order
From the Job Instructions tab on the job order, add instruction lines by selecting the Instruction Type, responsible user, supervisor, quality checklist, and date. The Instructions smart button gives you a quick overview of all job instructions for this order, so the team always knows what needs to be done and who is accountable.
Monitor Job Instructions per Order
View all Job Instructions for a specific Job Order in one place, including number, date, responsible person, supervisor, job, and state. This list makes it easy to review progress, update instructions, or add new ones without leaving the job context.
Review and Start Job Instruction
Open a specific Job Instruction to review its details, linked quality checklist, responsible user, supervisor, and job context, then move it through the workflow using the Start, Cancel, or Reset To Draft buttons. Use the Description and Instruction Photos tabs so the technician has all the information needed before beginning the work.
View Visual Guidance for the Job
Open the Instruction Photos tab to see all reference images linked to this Job Instruction, giving technicians clear visual guidance on how the work should be done and what the final result should look like.
Print Job Instruction Report
Use the Job Instruction Report option to generate a PDF that includes the instruction details, quality checklist, and all reference photos, ready to share with site teams, subcontractors, or auditors.
Share Job Instruction PDF
Review the generated Job Instruction PDF, which summarizes job details, linked quality checklist, description, and all instruction photos in a clean, printable layout ready for site teams or external partners.
Review Full Visual Instruction Pack
Use the second page of the Job Instruction PDF to view the remaining instruction photos, giving teams a complete visual reference for each step of the job before work starts.
