How to Assign Permissions

Go to Settings → Users & Companies → Users → Edit a user → Scroll to "Change Request" section → Select User or Manager → Save

Priority Levels & Overdue Detection

Understand how priority and overdue tracking works to manage your requests effectively.

Priority Levels
Low Standard requests, no urgency
Medium Normal priority (default)
High Important, needs attention soon
Critical Urgent! Requires immediate action

Dashboard shows breakdown by priority. Click "View Critical" to see all critical requests instantly.

Overdue Detection Logic

A request is OVERDUE when:

  • Deadline date is in the past (before today)
  • AND State is NOT Done, Cancelled, or Rejected

Visual Indicators:

  • Red "OVERDUE" badge on form view
  • Red highlighting in list view
  • "Days Left" shows negative days (e.g., -3 days)

Automatic Alerts:

  • Daily cron sends overdue email alerts
  • Activity reminder created 2 days before deadline
Tip: Use Priority + Deadline together to ensure critical items are never missed!

What is Change Request Management?
Change Request Management is an Odoo module that helps you track and manage customer change requests on your projects. It provides a complete workflow from submission to completion with email notifications and deadline tracking.
What is the workflow for change requests?
Change requests follow this workflow: Draft → Submitted → Under Review → Approved/Rejected → Done. Managers can approve or reject requests, and approved requests can be converted to tasks.
How do email notifications work?
Customers receive automatic emails when their change request is created and when the state changes. Managers in the Change Request Manager group are automatically CC'd on all notification emails.
How does SLA/Deadline tracking work?
Set a deadline on each change request. The system automatically detects overdue requests and highlights them in red. A daily cron job sends email alerts for overdue items and creates reminder activities 2 days before deadline.
Can I create tasks from change requests?
Yes! Once a change request is approved, you can click the "Create Task" button to automatically create a linked task in the project. The task is pre-populated with the change request details.
What does the Dashboard show?
The Dashboard shows real-time KPIs including total requests, open requests, approved, overdue, and breakdown by status and priority. Click on any KPI to see the filtered list of change requests.
