Overview
Supplier assessment is gathering specific information
about suppliers and their business through questionnaires. It is the
process of asking users, both internal and external, questions for
specific information. Supplier assessment is carried out to evaluate a
supplier, based on the specific requirements of the buyer organization.
For example, if a supplier lists their association to a specific
category of materials during registration, then the supplier can be
asked questions on the category of materials. The requirements are
transformed into questions in a questionnaire that the internal and
external users must answer. Each requirement type has a questionnaire
that is associated to it.
you can judge the suppliers on assessment results and requirement
fulfillment through the Supplier approval process. The
approval of a supplier is based on specific requirement that is defined
by the buyer and is carried out by running approval assessments. The
questionnaire that is used for approval purposes must be based on the
scope and the requirements that are identified for the supplier. The
supplier Approval comes in the form of grades that keep changing with
each assessment cycle and requirement criteria. In a supplier approval
you can see if the supplier is able to fulfill the buyer uses
requirement in the Requirements section. You can also view all the
assessments that are performed on the supplier in the Related
Assessments section.
