LOST MESSAGES ROUTING

This module allows you to track and manually route lost incoming messages that Odoo could not automatically assign to any document. All unlinked messages appear in a central list, where you can attach them to the correct record, ensuring no messages are lost.

Background

1. Centralized Lost Messages View

Any incoming email that it cannot match to a document is placed into a menu section called “Lost Messages”. From this list, users with the proper access rights can take actions (e.g manually routing the message to the correct Odoo model)

2. Manual Routing Wizard

You can manually route any lost message to the correct Odoo record. Just select the target model, record and the message will be added to its chatter, ensuring no communication is missed.

3. Model Restrictions & Notification System

You can restrict which models lost messages can be routed to by configuring allowed models.
Automatically notify selected users whenever a lost message arrives—ensuring timely action and no missed communication.

1. Configuration

Configure Allowed Models for Routing:
Navigate to: Settings > Lost Messages > Allowed Models
Select the models that users can route lost messages to
Once saved, only these models will appear in the Route Manual popup when routing a message.
Configure Notification Recipients:
Navigate to: Settings > Lost Messages > Lost Messages Notification
Enable the checkbox to activate notifications and select the users who should be notified. The system will automatically notify these users via email or internal messages.
View Lost Messages:
Navigate to: Lost Messages > Lost Messages
This menu shows all unassigned incoming emails that Odoo could not link to any record.
Manually Route Lost Messages:
From the list view, select a message and click the Route Manual button.
A popup will appear allowing you to select the target model and specific record.
After confirmation, the message is linked to the selected record and added to its chatter. The lost message record status will be updated accordingly.
