SCS Account Overdue Invoice
SCS Account Overdue Invoice is an accounting enhancement module for Odoo that helps businesses efficiently manage overdue customer invoices by automatically calculating interest on late payments. When an invoice is not paid within its due date, the module detects the overdue status and calculates the interest based on the configured rate and the number of overdue days. This eliminates manual calculations for finance teams and ensures accurate penalty charges for delayed payments. The module integrates seamlessly with the standard Accounting workflow in Odoo, allowing businesses to monitor overdue invoices, apply late payment interest, and maintain better financial control. By automating overdue interest calculation, it helps organizations encourage timely payments, improve cash flow management, and simplify the process of handling delayed customer payments.

When the “Calculate Interest on Overdue Invoices” option is enabled, relevant fields like Interest Rate, Interest Type, Late Fees, and Overdue Terms are dynamically displayed for easy configuration.

Automatic Interest Invoice Generation
The system generates separate Interest Invoices for overdue payments, making it easier to track and manage additional charges without modifying the original invoice.
A boolean field “Calculate Interest on Overdue Invoices” has been added under Payment Terms.
- When you set the boolean field to True, the following fields will be displayed: Interest Type, Interest Rate (%), Late Payment Fees, and Overdue Payment Term.
- Based on these settings, you will be able to manage the interest calculation flow within the invoice.
In the next step, we will create a Sales Order and select the configured “7 Days” payment term in the Payment Terms field.
The scheduler will identify invoices that are overdue and still unpaid, and automatically generate interest invoices for them.
Here, you can see that a new invoice has been created under the “Interest Invoices” smart button.
The interest has been calculated based on the invoice line amount.
- Total Invoice Amount: $ 320
- Interest (10%): $ 32
- Late Payment Fees: $ 50
These amounts are automatically added as invoice lines. Additionally, the configured “Overdue Payment Term” from the Payment Terms is also applied to this invoice.
