What makes Smart Hire -> SMART
Department-level hiring requests
Department managers can raise hiring requests directly in the system, including role, headcount, justification and urgency - reducing delays in initiating the hiring cycle.
Internal job posting portal
Existing employees can view and apply for internal job opportunities, encouraging talent retention, mobility and upskilling.
Auto-generated job descriptions
Based on role name, required skills and experience, the system generates a professional job description automatically ensuring standardization and saving time.
OCR-based resume extraction
Resumes uploaded by candidates or HR are auto-scanned using OCR. The system extracts key details (e.g., name, contact info, skills, education, experience) and fills them into the candidate profile - speeding up shortlisting.
Approval workflow for hiring requests
Multi-level approval for new hiring requests involving department heads, HR managers and finance ensures budget alignment and transparency.
Installation
Install HireSmart for enabling advanced recruitment features such as department-level hiring requests, internal job postings, auto job description generation, and OCR-based resume parsing.
Configuration

- Go to the Settings → Recruitment menu section → Add Mistral API key under "OCR [Resume and JD Generator]"
1. To use the following features, need to configure Mistral AI:
- Department-Level Hiring Requests
- Internal Job Posting Portal
- Approval Workflow for Hiring Requests
- Go to the Settings → Users & Companies → Users → HireSmart [Recruitment] Section
2. Access rights must be configured for users to use the
features listed below:
Workflow

1. Resume OCR
- To upload resumes (individually or in bulk), go to the 'Recruitment' app, click the 'Resume OCR' menu, and then select 'Upload Resume'.
- Once uploaded, the system will read all the data and map it to the created application.

2. AI Generated Job Summary
- To generate a job summary, go to any job post within the 'Recruitment' app and click the 'Generate Job Summary' button.

3. Internal Job Posting
- From the Recruitment app, click 'Internal Job Post' to create a new record. Remember to check the boolean box to designate it as an internal job post.
- You can view 'Internal Job Switch Request Applications' by clicking on the smart button. Once a request is approved, the application will be created automatically.

4. Hiring Workflow (Request & Approval)
- As a department head, you can access the Recruitment app to request new hires.
- As an HR, you'll be able to view and approve those requests.
