Installation
To install the module, you need to go to the Apps menu and remove the filter from the search bar and type the module name pragtech_hrms_salary_benchmarking, and click on the Activate button.
Configuration
Navigate to Settings > General Settings. Here you can see the “AI Credentials” section and the “OpenAI API Key” field. Need to set the API Key here. You can get the API Key from “ https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/api-keys “ here.
Workflow
Now go to the “Employees” application.
You can see an “AI Analyse” menu over here. In that menu, there is a submenu called “Salary Benchmarking”. Click on it and create a new record.
Select the “Employee” name from the selection.
The Current Salary, Department, and Designation will automatically show here. Run the analysis by clicking on the “Benchmark Salary” button.
The detailed AI response will be displayed here. The AI will compare employee salaries with industry standards, using the particular employee's Name, Department, Designation, Current Salary, and Experience.

The Salary Benchmarking module uses AI to compare an employee's current salary with industry standards based on their Name, Department, Designation, Salary, and Experience, helping HR and management ensure competitive and fair compensation.
Navigate to the Apps menu in your Odoo instance, remove the filter from the search bar, and search for pragtech_hrms_salary_benchmarking. Click the Activate button to install the module.
Go to Settings > General Settings, find the “AI Credentials” section, and enter your OpenAI API Key. You can generate this key from https://platform.openai.com/settings/organization/api-keys.
Go to the Employees application, navigate to “AI Analyse” > “Salary Benchmarking”, and create a new record. Choose the Employee, and then click the “Benchmark Salary” button. The analysis will automatically fetch employee details and generate AI-based insights.
The AI uses the following data for comparison:
- Employee Name
- Department
- Designation
- Current Salary
- Years of Experience
The AI generates a detailed report highlighting:
- Whether the employee is underpaid, fairly paid, or overpaid
- Industry average salary for the role and region (if applicable)
- Suggestions for adjustment
- Insights to help align compensation with market trends
