Job Costing Management System
InterAcct Job Costing for Odoo provides the functionality to cost control for jobs.
From Enquiry, to Estimating, Quotations, Budgets, and then Actual vs Budget analysis.
Years of experience in Job Costing Applications

We have been developing job costing systems since the early 1990s. This package will suit all types of clients who have a job costing requirement,
from someone charging out time on a job basis, to a client building a skyscraper. Master Jobs can be setup with multiple sub-jobs under them which can be split up again.
This module is an alternative solution to setting up analytical accounts in Odoo to track your Job Costing.

Multiple Sub Jobs per Master Job
Depending on the complexitity of the job you might need to split the job into multiple sub jobs.
Your subjobs could be different areas of work (like different locations/functions), or it could be different stages (Prelims, Foundations etc) Each Job (Sub Job) can have it's own budget and actual costs assigned to it, so you can keep a track of each section of your main job and how it is going. Quotations are typically generated at the Master Job level, and will allow you to pickup individual estimates which exist under the Sub Jobs and attach them to create a quotation to present to the customer. Each Job's actual costs are broken down into Labour, Materials, Subcontractors, Machines and Sundry Costs. In the below example, each of these have a Estimate converted to Budget under them.

Multiple Estimates per Job
Your clients might change thier minds, or some other change might require you to re-estimate a job.
Create multiple estimates per job. Could be used to re-estimate the whole job, or add another variation to the job. Estimates are then consolidated by the Master Job and attached to the quotation. Each Estimate is broken down into Labour, Materials, Subcontractors, Machines and Sundry Costs, in the below example you can see that there are 2 Estimates, one has been assigned to a Sales Order, the other is a Variation which is only in Draft status. You can also see from here the options to view the actual transactions against the cost groups, and a summary of the Budget, Actual and Variance.

Estimates
Seperated into Cost Groups
Under the estimate, as you can see you have tabs for each of the cost groups (labour, materials, subbies, machines & sundry) You can setup here all the details and breakdown of what you expect to occur on the job. There is also a description for the estimate which will be added to the quotation when this is generated. Normally the sell price is calculated with the idea of cost a markup, but we do provide the option to enter the Estimate using the Sell Price setup under the Product Database. You can also use Cost item Bundles setup under the Product File where you can setup a list of cost items from various groups to create the estimate.

Cost Item Bundles - Quick Estimates
Quickly creating estimates using Product Bundles
To save time (and money) you can also create your estimate by using product bundles. This can be used in a few different ways. You could simply define a list of regular items which are included for particular jobs and add them into the estimate with the idea that you would change/delete the items later which are different. Or you can use them like a list of smaller parts of work you want to add in under one estimate. For example you could have all the costings to say add electrical power to a room which might include 3 power plugs, 1 light switch and 1 light, then when adding in the estimate for a house you could say I want to add 4 rooms. This would multiple out your products out and add them to the Estimate.

Quotations
Flexible Options to consolidate details, or show all details of the estimate.
Depending on what you are selling and your client's requirements, you might want to select what sort of layout you want to present to the customer. From a itemised version which will show every line from the estimate, to a single line total of the quote with no details at all. The estimate can be sorted by each estimate, or sub job, or just thrown together into the Master Job. It's up to you.

Itemised Quotation
Here is an example of an itemised quotation, you will notice it has split it up into 3 sections for each of the Estimates we have included, and all the cost items which were included in the estimate. It has also included a long description which has come from the estimate setup.

Job Cards
Print a hard copy of the Budget for a job to be used in the factory or on-site.
The Job Card can be printed out for use when the computer isn't available in the factory or on-site. It includes the budgets for the Labour, Materials and Machine Costs. Each line has a barcode which can be used when the "Barcode Timesheet" module is purchased, which allows you to enter timesheets purely with using a barcode scanner and this job card and the employees ID card.

Stock Issues
Convert the Budgeted Materials into Stock issues (Internal or Delivery Dockets)
Once a Job has a budget which contains materials, you then have the option to issue materials to the job. The quickest way to do this is via the Stock Issue button which will pickup the budgeted items less what has already been issued and create a stock issue. There are 2 main types of stock issues. Firstly Internal Transfers when your jobs are being done in the factory/warehouse where the stock resides. And the second are delivery dockets when the stock needs to be sent out to site. You can use the standard Delivery Docket and Internal Transfer options to allocate costs to the job, but this just saves you some time.

Timesheets
Projects and Tasks are linked to Estimate Cost Items for Timesheet Entries
When an Estimate is converted to a Budget, at this time the module will create a Project and related Tasks in the Project module which then will allow you to use these to link your timesheets up to Estimate Cost Item and it's related Job to populate the Timesheets and Actual Costs for labour. Another nice feature here is that if there is only one Estimate and/or one Labour item for the estimate it can attach that automatically as soon as you select the Job/Project.

Field Service
The Field Service Module can also be linked
Under the Job Costing configuration you can select to create the Project Tasks which are generated for Labour items to get generated to be used under the field service module. When timesheets are entered under here they are linked automatically back to the Job/Estimate/Cost Item they relate to back at the Job Costing. It's also handy to be able to split up the task into sub tasks, and keep track of the budgeted hours vs actual.

Budget, Actual & Variances
Comparing the Budget vs the Actuals to work out the Variance
Once the actuals have been entered related to the Job (or Sub Job), you will see those actual costs compared to the budget costs which have been assigned to the job.
